I worked with Alison at Dharma Dog NYC over the course of several months for help with my dog, Irvie. Alison was focused and extremely attentive to my dog's particular issues , helping me to address his leash reactivity which was extreme. Within a few sessions Irvie was enormously improved. We worked on other milder issues which also improved quickly when i implemented her training instructions. Alison was a pleasure to deal with in every way, was supportive and clear in her communications. One of the things i appreciated was her email letters of follow up which arrived promptly after every training session. These emails would summarize the work we had done and would clarify any details she thought i might forget or not have fully understood during our training session. Irvie is now the joy i knew he could be now that we understand each other better thanks to Alison's canine translator skills. I can't recommend her highly enough.

Alison is such a great trainer and is a perfect match for me and my anxious puppy, Shiloh. Alison is confident and calm and is ready to adapt specific training protocols based on your individual dog and their needs. Shiloh absolutely loves her and I completely trust her judgement and experience. I booked the five pack training sessions and booked them spread out over 2-3 months. We learned so much! It was also really helpful to have an expert come in and validate what I have been learning about my dog and her personality. I will probably end up booking more time with her down the line after we've had some time to practice all of the skills she taught us. I highly recommend working with Alison, she will listen to your needs and will instill trust in your dog.

Alison is extremely knowledgeable and kind. Our pup loves her, and so do we! She is very responsive to our needs, follows up every session with detailed recaps to help us keep track of all the useful material we cover. She takes the time to explain the theory behind the training so that we understand why it works and can better apply it in real life. Best of all, she is a calming presence for an over-stimulated dog and two brand-new anxious dog parents. Highly recommend!
