Devotion to Dogs

I had started to lose faith that I’d be able to keep my German Shepherd mix, Walnut, due to her intense reactivity and territorial behavior. She was resource guarding, had poor recall, and was incredibly stubborn. I was overwhelmed and didn’t know what else to do. Devotion to Dogs was recommended to me, and it was the best decision I’ve ever made for my girl. Walnut completed their two-week board and train program and came back a new dog, in the best way. No more lunging at strangers or other dogs. She plays nicely at the park and dog beach again, just like when she was younger before the reactivity set in. She can even relax in a coffee shop with me on a Sunday afternoon while I read, and I can trust her to stay calm and settled. The training is just as much for the humans as it is for the dogs. I didn’t know how to set boundaries or communicate clear expectations before. The trainers worked with me 1:1 to make sure I knew exactly how to maintain everything Walnut learned once she came home. Huge shoutout to Ben, Joshua, and Martina for their patience, consistency, and genuine care for every dog that walks through their doors. Walnut and I will be forever grateful. The weekly free socialization classes are such a gift and help us keep everything fresh. Thank you Devotion to Dogs! You gave me my dog back. ❤️

My dog was reactive to everything, especially dogs. It made both of us miserable, embarrassing and I was borderline resented him. I couldn’t take him anywhere. Devotion To Dogs has saved both of us. Never in a million years did I think I could take my pup to any brewery, farmers market, cafe, etc. I’m writing this while sitting at a brewery with other dogs, kids running around people everywhere. My Jackson is sleeping at my feet. Jackson wasn’t the only one trained, I was trained as well. This isn’t just a training and done forever. They offer free weekly socialization classes which are incredibly helpful. There are not enough words to say how grateful I am to Ben and his team. I truly believe they love Jackson.

Wow, Ben transformed my dog in less than an hour! Fletcher was starting to growl and lunge at other dogs, and Ben showed me how to correct (way earlier than I had been) and we walked Fletcher around several dogs in the facility....within minimal time, Fletcher was ignoring them and watching me!! (Without me repeating "look at me" x100 and shoving treats in his face) And this was only day one! I'm excited to keep going back for the rest of our training package. I started with a consult and ended up doing the e-collar training package. I'll def be attending the Wednesday night socials too!

I can’t say enough great things about Martina. She truly has that it factor when it comes to dog training. Her deep understanding of canine body language, combined with her nurturing demeanor and natural talent as an educator, sets her apart. She took the time to work one-on-one with each puppy, tailoring her approach to meet their individual needs. Her methods were clear, practical, and easy to follow, making the training experience both effective and enjoyable. What I also love about this place is the consistent support. Whenever you need something, they show up and deliver. The care and dedication from the entire team go above and beyond. Highly recommend!
