Devotion to Dogs

I was recommended Ben right after I adopted my little stray doggie from Mexico. When I adopted her the rescue said she was excited when she would see other dogs. That was not the case when I took her for her first walk. She was reactive to dogs. She made this awful yelping, crying, barking sound. I was completely embarrassed and only walked her early in the morning when I knew people weren’t up and out. Along comes Ben into Maggie’s life. The BEST decision I ever did make! Long story short, Maggie needed professional help. She ended up being a board and train for over 4 weeks! With her basically being a stray dog Ben had to first build her confidence, make her less anxious and train her how to act around other dogs. Both his dog’s Copper & Penny helped with the training. Being around stable dogs was key for Maggie. It was hard being without my new pup but every day I received videos of her progress, photos, and texts. The very first day she was off a leash walking next to Copper! My mind was blown. I knew she was in great hands and it out my mind at ease. Fast forward to over 2 years later and I can still rely on Ben for tips, tricks and advice. Ben has always helped with my struggles with Maggie. He would let me tag along at DTD and work with Maggie there. Both Maggie and I were always confident there. I have always trusted Ben and his team when I needed to board Maggie for the weekend. Maggie is such a happy dog the minute we would pull up in the driveway. She never looked back to say bye mom! Ben and Nicole really have become Maggies second home She loves their kids and both Copper and Penny! I can’t say enough thanks for all the hard work and time Ben has put into my 22lbs Schnauzer mix to make her a better dog. She can tolerate other dogs without going crazy, she’s very obedient & she knows her commands. When she sees Ben it is the cutest. I wish she got that excited over me😊 Thank you Ben, Nicole and the rest of DTD! Not only do you have a client for life but also 2 friends.

As the go to for loose and lost dogs I often encounter the extremes of dog behavior from fearfully shut down to downright dangerous. Ben has helped many of them when their lives would have otherwise ended. He deals with every dog and situation as unique and starts ground up. I trust no one else when I have a dog in need and trust Ben with his team inherently. I have referred many people and never once heard a complaint. People ask about cost and I say h honestly, you and your dog will get more in one session with Ben than weeks with any other trainer.

I found out about devotion to dogs through a church friend after my 2 yo german Shepherd attacked the new family kitten. The kitten hid behind the couch and my GSD tore the couch to pieces in an attempt to get the kitten. In addition to this issue, he had anxiety issues, and would jump on people when they walked in the door. After a one on one in home training session with Ben, and continued training with his tips, my GSD no longer jumps on people at the door, has less anxiety, and he and the cat can coexist. Additionally, after training DtD, you get to join their member facebook where they hold Q and As, should new problems come up, and schedule regular pack walks for doggie socializing. I am so thankful to Ben and Devotion to Dogs and recommend them to anyone needing a dog trainer.

Ben is the best! Taught us how to properly walk our two Huskies with all the proper tools and exercises.My female husky used to be reactive towards dogs and was hard to control during walks or any place I took her. I'd get stressed taking her out to places where I knew other dogs would be! One session with Ben was enough to fix many issues that I was having. He shows you exactly how to lead and correct your dog’s behavior. I highly recommend Ben! Best decision I've made for my two Furbabies! 😊
