Designing Dogs

Alan Finn has given me the ability to go out and enjoy life. His understanding of dogs and his very gentle way of teaching them is amazing. After an accident that put me in a wheelchair I had no reason to go out. Alan has trained Medusa, a German Shepherd as my service dog. Alan has taught Medusa and I things I never thought were possible for a dog do to. Without her and our training I could not function as I do. She goes everywhere with me and has even been on several flights. People always say they did not know there was a dog on the plane. Yes, she has even been to Disney! My vet recommended him which says a lot. Medusa is the 3rd dog I have trained with Alan. He is always just a phone call away when I have a question and he keeps our private lessons and group class a fun and educational experience. If Alan teaches you & your dog he or she will be the best companion you ever had. Alan has given me the confidence along with Medusa to enjoy life once again.

I was referred to Alan by 2-3 strangers in a pet store as I shopped for supplies for the German Shepherd puppy I was getting in two weeks. They all agreed he was the best. I made the call and 3 years later I continue to see him on a regular basis to continue my dogs training. My goal for training was to be able to take my dog anywhere and for her to be well behaved. I accomplished that and more with Alan’s help and guidance. When I am complimented on my girls behavior by a stranger I tell them I owe it all to Alan. I highly recommend him to anyone who loves their dog and wants to help him/her live their best life.

Alan has helped me with all of my dogs since they were puppies. When I first met Alan many years ago, I could tell he has a gift with dogs that cannot be taught. His presence around dogs is nothing short of magical and once you see him interact with dogs and the way they respond to him, you know almost instantly that he is truly amazing. His teaching methods help socialize them properly, he helps you build confidences in your dogs and help he helps you build strong bond with your dog in the process. Anyone can teach a dog “tricks with treats” but Alan works with you, the handler, to have your dog want to behave in a way that will lead them to live a happy, well adjusted life based on positive praise without the use of treats. We are very lucky to have such an amazing and talented trainer in this area. Whether you need help with something small or if you are having an issue with your dog that you just don’t think can be fixed, do yourself and your dog a favor and call Alan. I am the proud owner of three Samoyeds. Our family has learned, through the guidance of Alan, how to help our pets become therapy dogs. Alan’s knowledge and patience is above and beyond. He helped our family learn how the dogs respond to praise. He is a very kind, compassionate, animal loving person. I highly recommend Alan to anyone who has a dog.
