Desert Sky K9

We sent our 15-week-old Dalmatian puppy for a 3 week board and train with Gale and Vincent, and I truly cannot believe the transformation. He came back a completely new pup in the best way. He’s calm, well tempered, walks amazing on leash without pulling or biting it, and actually understands and listens to commands now. Beyond the incredible results, Gale and Vincent are genuinely kind, patient, and caring people. You can tell they truly love what they do and care deeply about the dogs they work with. Leaving your puppy is never easy, but we felt confident and at peace knowing he was in such good hands. We wouldn’t trust anyone else with our dog going forward. If you’re on the fence this is your sign. Worth every penny and more.

Desert Sky K9 is amazing! Gail and Vince completely transformed my Husky, Koda. His transformation was truly night and day. Before coming to Desert Sky, Koda was from a shelter and was very reactive and had aggression towards food, as well as a dominance issue. I am in school and work full time so getting Koda the proper training was important to me. Even with my tough schedule created delays Gail and Vince worked with me and gave Koda the best training to improve not only his quality of life but mine as well. Just by talking with them you can see the experience and understanding of a dog’s needs.THEY DON’T USE SHOCK COLLARS, which as the pets owner was very important to me when looking for trainers. Koda’s quality of life has completely changed, he’s able to be around other dogs while playing in a gentle manner. He no longer has any forms of aggression towards food or others. Watching the demonstration at the end, as well as being able to participate in the lesson you can really see the work that they do! I am forever grateful to Gail and Vince. I recommend 1000%. My husband and I took our newly adopted female labradoodle to Desert Sky K9 for a 2 or 3 week boot camp. This was back in June of 2017, a couple weeks after we got her. She was so timid around my husband and we felt she was left outside with her former owners. She was dirty, had ticks and just a mess. She came back to us in a whole new version of herself. Her name is Dixie, and she has been a therapy dog now for 8 years, going to Banner Estrella every week with my husband. They enjoy this time together!! She makes a lot of people smile!!

I only had a phone conversation with Gail, but felt that I needed to leave a review as it left a really bad taste. She got back to me quickly and was pleasant. She did not ask anything about my dog other than her age. She only referred to her as “the dog” or “your dog”. While she was telling me about her training process, she spoke bad about other trainers (not by name). She told me what I should be looking out for when looking for a trainer (sounds nice, but did it while in putting them down). She also told me what reviews to trust as they can be bought. When I told her that I’m more interested in dealing with her separation anxiety, Gail told me that’s not a thing. She then proceeded to tell me why and how my dog was acting and why that was actually normal. She never ASKED me what my dog is doing. I had mentioned I worked overnights and she asked what I do. I told her. When the conversation was over, she proceeded to tell me that I should work at a different hospital and that I’ll never want to leave. I did not ask her opinion on my career, nor is it appropriate to tell a complete stranger what to do. Maybe I love my job, maybe I got promoted. Overall, I felt like I was spoken down to and told what to do. I don’t appreciate or tolerate that. Maybe she’s an amazing trainer, but I would not let her take my dog for three weeks.
