After meeting Carol for the Home Evaluation/Consultation, we decided to sign-up for the 4-week Adult/Puppy Private In-home Training sessions. We are so excited with Carol’s positive energy that we asked, if we could add-on two more sessions (e-collar and agility course guidance). Carol checks-in on how the training is going and she is just a text away, if you have any questions. My Golden is a Service Dog in Training and is doing fantastic. He just loves people and other dogs. He no longer jumps up on people, he is calm and now performs all tasks assigned. Carol states that all dogs need a job…I am a true believer! I have never been a fan of the e-collar, but Carol took the time to explain the e-collar in more detail (with her knowledge/expertise…it is a wonderful tool, when used correctly). Carol suggested maybe an agility course for our large backyard. We set up a mini agility course (excellent exercise and fun at the same time) my Golden absolutely LOVES IT! 😊 We are so impressed that Carol involves other family members and/or neighbors to participate in training; therefore, she can visualize the whole picture of what needs to be addressed with the individual training. The training session at Wickham Park was the perfect place to deal with distractions (people, dogs and workers, etc.). Honestly, I did my research and visited a few other training facilities before hiring DePaul K9 Academy. Carol is a true professional, very knowledgeable and such a kind person. Absolutely incredible!!!! I have 2 Staffies (80 lb and 60 lb, ages 4 and 1) who I hadn't been diligent about training or manners with. The first day of training, the younger and smaller one was jumping and nipping - it was really terrible. I am now at week 4, and as of today's session, when someone comes in I can send them to "place" (go lay in their beds), open the door, let people in calmly, and have a conversation without either dog moving. Absolutely incredible! I feel empowered, I have a better relationship with my dogs, I am calmer, the dogs are happier... the list goes on and on. Carol is incredibly patient with both me and the dogs (let's be honest, I'm really the one being trained ;)), explains things thoughtfully, encourages me when I get frustrated, and checks up on me in between trainings to answer any questions or concerns. She also helped me break down what I do regularly to figure out how I can easily/naturally incorporate training and make my routines more successful. I truly cannot say enough nice things. If you are considering any type of training, hands down, over and over again I would recommend Carol. I just signed up for another 4 weeks and cannot wait to see what we accomplish. Thank you Carol for everything you have done for me and my family - it is extraordinary. (I cannot end without giving a quickest shout out to her husband who has also been part of our training sessions and is also absolutely wonderful!!!!!).

Carol is giving us the tools we need to train our fearful puppy. She comes once a week to see what progress we have made or to guide me with training techniques. She is calm and gentle but also a strong handler and our puppy responds to her very well during training. One of my friends recommended Carol and I'm glad she did. I would recommend her to anyone that asks. Update: My dog has improved tremendously since our first training session. Carol has been instrumental in helping me learn to train my dog. She is just a phone call/ text away when I need her.
