DD Kennels

I've known Andy for quite sometime and knew he was a dog trainer and hunting guide, so when I got my German Shorthair, she was a little wild and I needed help so I hired Andy and Trey to train her for me. Holy cow what a good job they did with her, they believe in training the dogs the right way so they learn and retain with out forcing them to do things. Their communication through out was top notch. I knew how she was doing all the time and what needed work. They kept me up on time frame and let me make the training choices for some things. When I got my dog back, I got a well mannered, lean fit hunting machine that still acted and responded as a family dog. These guys will be training my next dog for sure. If you need a dog trained i highly recommend these guys, they will evaluate the pup, give you a basic time line and get your input on how far you want them to take the finishing of the dog.

I found DD Kennels not long after they opened when I found myself with a Brittany that was so much more dog than I anticipated. At the time Andy told me in about three years this would be my favorite. He was not wrong but he didn’t warn me that the dog would become such a valued member of the family. Nor did I expect that their kennel service would be my go to home for the pups when I have to leave them. Can’t recommend high enough.

I have had an excellent experience with DD Kennels over the years. They trained my German Wirehairs, and the results have been fantastic. Their expertise in versatile bird dog training is evident—my dog is now incredibly successful in the field, whether we are hunting upland birds or waterfowl. Also, got them prepared and passed NAVHDA Natural Ability and Utility Test. Beyond the training, they also provide great kennel boarding, which gives me peace of mind when I have to head out of town. If you are looking for a trainer in the Laurel or Billings area who can actually deliver results for a hunting companion, I highly recommend them!
