My 85 lb German Shepherd dog was VERY dog reactive to the point I did not feel comfortable taking him on walks or being in public with him. The solution? Time with David & his team. I am now a proud owner, in FULL control of my dog and we go everywhere & anywhere with confidence and pride! I love when I walk in public places and other dogs are going crazy and Pilot and I just walk by without a care in the world. DaCruz K9 was our go to option when it came to working with our two lab rescues. Our situation was unique, as we were extremely lucky to have had the opportunity to bring our chocolate lab Teddy into our home to be reunited with his litter-mate and sister Lulu, following his rough start in life. We are extremely grateful to DaCruz K9 for helping Teddy—and we are reminded how imperative it is for dogs to have structure, yet feel safe and loved from the start. Dave created an individualized board and train program to address Teddy’s issues, while working with Lulu on obedience training. Following their board and train stay, Dave provided a training session, teaching us the tools to successfully work with both dogs. He continues to be a great support as we move forward. We sent our 2 French Bulldogs for the 4 week off-leash program....we were kinda skeptical because hey they are French Bulldogs, but after talking to David I felt much more comfortable. When our pups (just 11 months old) came back to us they were and still are amazing! We can now eat without them begging, we can confidently walk them on and OFF-LEASH, and they are just all around more well behaved. We could not be any happier, and David and Gianna made it clear that we are now part of their “pack” and if we need anything in the future they will be there. I have and will be referring them to anyone and everyone that may be looking for a trainer...and trust me when people see 2 French Bulldogs walking right next to me without a leash...I get a lot of questions! I have a 5 year old German Shepherd named Kody. He was very protective of me and my family to the point where it was difficult to have friends over. He had a lot of social anxiety when out and did not trust anyone else besides me. Besides the big tough guy act he puts on, Kody has the biggest heart of any dog I knew. I wanted other people to see that in him. That is where David came in and was able to calm his anxiety towards new people. The moment I first called David he was very professional, helpful, and understanding. What makes David stand out the most is his compassion for dogs and his values. He takes in your dogs as if they were his own. That was very reassuring, especially when I decided to do the 4 weeks of advance training with him. During the 4 weeks of training, David would send videos and pictures of Kody and I was constantly amazed at his progression. When I finally got him back I was baffled during the demo. David was able to take Kody off-leash around Target's parking lot and in front of the main entrance without any issues. I was amazed seeing Kody unfazed by the loud noises of the bus driving by and constant flow of people in an out of the store. It was great seeing this transformation and couldn't be happier with Kody's behavior. David has done a tremendous job and continues to educate me on different things to do with Kody. Not only was he a great trainer to Kody, I know he will be a great friend as well.
