Cupids Doghouse

We rescued a stray that literally walked in the front door. Tried to find the owner, but no chip and no response on social media. So, apparently, we now have another dog. We have had lots of dogs and have been pretty successful in training them ourselves. But, this dog is "special". She is a hunter and she really likes to hunt cats. Unfortunately, we also have 2 cats. It wasn't going well. We contacted Cupid and he assessed the situation and we started training. We have a long way to go, but we believe that we now have the tools to make this work. Cupid does great work training and empowering his clients.

I have a 1 year old cocker spaniel who has severe people anxiety. She displays fear based aggression towards ANYONE who is not our immediate family. After selecting Cupids Doghouse to board train her she has returned home a more confident dog. She normally barked at our neighbors or anyone who came by our house. Since her return she has not displayed aggression towards anyone. She looks at them and walks the other way. We still have a ways to go to ensure her happiness but the start has shown us hope. Listen….. i have a super hyper standard poodle. I reached out to Cupid’s Dog House to see if they could be of any assistance getting my girl under control. At first i was scared that she may have been untrainable, but Cupid’s showed me other wise. She spent a little time away from home training and when she came back, i could literally cry at her progress. We are building on top of her training daily. Cupid is very responsive and professional and gives us weekly tips and criticism as she trains at home for her healthy future. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!!

As a long-time small business owner myself, I expect excellence in the professionals and businesses I hire, and working with Cupid was a great experience. My husband and I have two dogs - Pineapple, a 9 year old Golden Retriever/German Shepherd mix, and Coconut, a 5 year old Pit/Lab mix. We've had them both since they were about 7 weeks old and they are very much like children to us and a big part of our family. We travel a lot and they go pretty much everywhere with us. For the first few years, everything was great with Coconut, but especially over the last year or so, she has started reacting very negatively to other leashed dogs, bicyclists, squirrels, and other distractions when we're out walking and hiking - pulling, lunging, barking, growling, even throwing herself down on the ground. She also has gotten into fights with Pineapple, at times injuring her. After the last fight, we knew we needed some help and a local vet recommended Cupid's Doghouse. We had a great convo with Cupid over the phone, and he also came to our home to evaluate the girls. He recommended that Coconut board with him for 6 weeks so that he could evaluate her further and start training her. It was clear from the very first meeting that Cupid genuinely loves dogs and has a real passion for what he does. We felt very comfortable leaving Coconut in his care. We kept in touch via calls, text, video and then first had the opportunity to see Coconut about 4 weeks into her training. We met up at the local dog park and got to see her interact with another dog Cupid brought and with other dogs in the park. We could see a difference right away. Later in the day, we took her for a walk by ourselves and were really amazed at how much better she behaved. A week later, Cupid suggested we keep her for a week for a "test drive" to see how she did in different situations with us. We had the opportunity to take her on several walks, hikes, and visits to the dog park. She's no longer bothered by other leashed dogs and bicyclists on our walks, which is a huge deal to us. She's also so, so much better when she sees squirrels and birds. We were able to take her on hikes that we just hadn't been able to take her on anymore previously because of how she would act. We also took her to the dog park several times, and not only did she not react negatively to most other dogs, she even would choose to play with some of them. She's been much calmer at home, and totally fine with our other dog. We can see that she still has some triggers, especially when it comes to other dogs licking her or invading her personal space, but now that we know what to look for, we feel like we can be much more proactive in keeping her and other dogs safe. I think only time will tell if she and Pineapple get into another fight, but, we do feel like we know how to handle that if it occurs again. Cupid has also given us some really helpful suggestions for reinforcing some things with Pineapple. We also very much appreciate the fact that Cupid has really encouraged us to keep in touch with him and to continue to use him as a resource as we start traveling full-time with our girls again. In summary, it was very hard to be away from Coconut for several weeks, but we definitely feel like it was the right choice to send her to Cupid's Doghouse and we're very grateful for the progress Cupid has made in that time and the fact that he accommodated our tight time-frame.
