Me and my fiancé lost our shepherd in January and in March we started looking for a new puppy and we found one. We soon realized that he had some sort of aggression and reactive issues. I contacted a local trainer where we did two private sessions and then was told that my dog is ready for group class where my dog literally didn’t learn anything and was taught to just climb on stuff and have all these other dogs running around him. so I found Crouse Canine and I contacted Derek and told him the issues that my dog is having and asked if he would be able to help. I’m very thankful that he does in-home dog training because I really think that’s what my dog needed at that point. Derek is very knowledgeable, understanding, and cares about your pets well-being. I like that he records every training session that you have and he sends it to you so that you can go back on it. He also has his whiteboard that he writes his notes on and things to work on which he also sends to you. My dog is very stubborn. And listens very well to his dad, but when it comes to me, he does not listen very well and Derek very soon realized that. so Derek suggested that I do most of the training and it has been paying off. My confidence with my dog was very low and I was afraid of my dog and Derek could tell and every training session he could tell that it was getting better and he would always point it out. We’ve been training with him for I think the past 10 months and my dog is a completely different dog so if you’re looking for a trainer, I highly recommend Crouse Canine.

Crouse Canine is the real deal! Derek brings a level of passion to his craft that you don't see with other trainers. Especially at the big box store trainers. He's dedicated to training the individual just as much as the dog to make sure that you learn everything he has to offer. He also records the important parts of your session and shares the videos with you so you can review them later to help with your knowledge. If you have any questions he's always available to answer them and address your concerns. My wife and I have been using Derek for over a year and we have learned so many skills that will use not only with our current dogs but with all the dogs we will have in the future. I attended a trainer’s training workshop put on by Derek Crouse at Crouse Canine, January 5-8, 2023. It was truly an exponential learning experience. I attended the workshop as I am a newer dog trainer looking to level up my own skills training dogs, and to learn new business models to serve my own local community. The level of other trainers attending the workshop from all over the USA to train with Derek spoke for itself as to the man’s reputation. You don’t have top National talent showing up to train with you if you don’t have something special to offer. Excellence in training, says it all to me. The connections I saw him make with people and dogs was amazing. He helped create a family out of this group of attendees by having us all struggle to level up while helping each other. Developing people is definitely a super talent Derek possesses. He knows how to coach people in order to help them strive to become their best. His dedication to deep learning is evident, and doesn't stop at dogs. He brings many talents to the table, in addition to being an excellent dog trainer and decoy. I will attend other workshops put on by Derek in the future because he gave way more than I expected. We trained hard and our average day was 12 hours. Not for the faint of heart! I highly recommend Derek Crouse at Crouse Canine, as a trainer, coach and mentor. Few people I have met has his heart for dogs AND people. I like that he believes in being of real service to his local community too. That’s huge in my book. Word of warning if you decide to train with him, be prepared to do the work. He will meet you with his all, but has expectations set for those select few who he now trains with. Demand is rising as his reputation grows. If you are in his local community and are thinking you want to train with him, I suggest you get it scheduled soon. I know I’m personally pushing him to become more as he has a lot to offer other trainers, like myself.
