Milo and Bitsy were brought to us for a standard 4 week board and train program.<br>During our initial phone consultation, you failed to mention the level of reactivity and anxiety both of the dogs were presenting.<br>During the drop off, both dogs were very reactive/anxious, at which time we discussed that maybe the 4 week program was not the best program and that the dogs would possibly have to be transferred to the reactive dog program. You mentioned that in-laws were paying for the training, and you didn’t think you would be able to get any more $ for that program.<br>We agreed that we would take the dogs as far as we could in the 4 week program.<br>During the training, we communicated extensively with you via text message and told you that the dogs had gone through ups and downs , and were not eating at first but started eating after a few days, and Milo biting one of the trainers.<br>We mentioned that the level of anxiety and fear Milo was demonstrating was concerning, and we would definitely need more time with him as he was not wanting to bond with anyone, and our training methods are best effective when we can bond with the dog and build trust with a dog.<br>During the 3rd week, we noticed that Milo began to lose hair around his eyes.<br>We IMMEDIATELY notified you AND a Vet. Milo was taken to the vet and skin scrapes confirmed what both Me and the Vet hypothesized. Milo had Demodex. It is a hereditary mange that the dog gets from the mother at birth.<br>It may lay dormant for years in a dog and then all of a sudden appear during stressful times. Milo was treated for the Demodex and we paid the bill.<br>You left Milo and Bitsy with us for 4 weeks, and we were paid for the time that they were here. We did not charge you for the vet and did not charge you for the aggressive dog program that we agreed would be needed.<br>Chris even agreed to continue working with you both at home without charge.<br>Chris reached out to you to check on the dogs and was told things were going “ok”.<br>When he tried to schedule a time to come to your house, he was told everyone had Covid and would be contacted after everyone got better.
