Finding Cranks Custom K9 was such a huge blessing! When I brought Severus home he started showing some resource guarding immediately. Every other trainer was telling us to send him back to the breeder, except for Gene! We did the 7 lesson package and after only 1 lesson we were able to work through this issue. And now that we have finished all 7 lessons, Severus is one of the most well behaved/happy puppies I have seen because of the tools/techniques we learned in our lessons. Gene really cares about your dog and is always just a phone call or text away even after you compete all the lessons in your package. So thankful that we have him as our trainer/support system on this journey!

Gene is a dog whisperer. He took our feisty 10-yr-old doggo and taught him new tricks. We learned SO much from him about dog behavior and were able to condition away unwanted behaviors as we expected a new baby. The training curriculum was very adaptable to our situation and included at-home training as well.

I was recommended to Gene of Crank's Custom Canines by a close friend who went to Gene for his two Alaskan Malamute dogs. I knew the dogs before the training and then witnessed the transition to the dogs they are today. I was impressed enough to pursue training from Crank's Custom Canines.
My wife and I went to Gene with our 12 week old Australian Shepherd puppy. We've had dogs all our lives and considered our dogs to be well behaved, but we saw the difference between a well behaved dog and a well trained dog.
Gene broke down his expert knowledge to a level we could understand. He showed us how our puppy learns. How to properly utilize the training equipment. How to correct and reward behaviors that were desired. How to correct the behaviors we didn't desire. He showed us how to encourage mental growth to keep our puppy engaged and stimulated.
Gene and Jenifer were kind, wonderful and very helpful. Crank's Custom Canines were also very competitively priced. Absolutely worth the drive every time through Temecula wine country to the training!
My wife and I completed a shorter training package that Gene offered and without a doubt we will recommend him to anyone and everyone who is seeking a solid, confident and passionate dog trainer. Furthermore as our puppy matures we will seek follow-on training to expand our knowledge and fully open up the potential of our pup!
