If I could give negative stars, I would! I boarded my 66 lb., black and white mix-breed here for 2 nights while in town visiting. I dropped him off at 5:30 pm and picked him up just after 1pm. He was there less than 48 hours. First thing I noticed was the rank smell of urine and general filth upon walking in the door. The staff was friendly and seemed like they were excited to have him stay with them, so I gave them the benefit of a doubt and proceeded to check him in and discuss feeding. (I feel I should also mention that this was the only boarding location with an opening) We said our goodbyes and we left our happy, high energy, and freshly washed fur-baby for his short boarding stay. At pick up, I paid and they went to get him from the back. The dog they brought out barely looked like the dog I had dropped off. He was yellow from head to toe and smelled so god-awful I had to hold my breath. My boy (dog), who usually is excited to see me, barely gave me his usual hugs and went right for the door (seemingly saying "get me out of here!"). I board him regularly and this was very unusual behavior for him. Also there was way too much food left over in his food container for them to have fed him according to my specifications. On the drive home, I had to keep the windows down even though it was 27 degrees out because the smell was so bad. My dog, who loves to look out the windows and smear his nose on everything instead laid on the floor motionless. He reacted to his name only by looking up at me (rather than his usual kisses). This is when I noticed the gashes on his nose. Needless to say, he got a good scrub down the moment we got home. I'm not sure what goes on at this establishment, but I know that the amount of urine my dog was covered in was more than my dog produces in 48 hours. He is well house trained and never messes in his kennel. I can only assume that the kennel he was kept in was filthy and unclean for a very long time prior to his visit in order to make a freshly washed dog smell the way he did in less than 48 hours. Also, I question the humane treatment of my dog while in their care as his entire demeanor has changed. I'm hoping that his bouncy self will reappear after being back home for awhile. Summary: If you love and care for the wellbeing of you fur-baby, do not board here. If I were a resident of this area, I would submit this place for an investigation.
