Cosmic Canine

Cosmic Canine spent two weeks boarding and training our extremely active, intelligent, and mischievous 4.5 month old GoldenDoodle puppy. We could not be happier with the results. They taught us the techniques and how/when to use them and she responds beautifully. They also could not have been nicer and more patient throughout the process and kept us in the loop with daily texts, photos, or videos demonstrating her progress. Our pup Remy has always been a reactive dog, but to our knowledge was never a bite risk - after an incident though last year where he nipped at someone, we promptly called Cosmic Canine. Keri was the first person we met with and she and the team walked us through so much about dog behavior and reactivity, as well as their training plan for a dog like Remy, all while interacting with him to understand his specific nature, which made me feel like they were really understanding our dog and not just prescribing a one-size-fits-all training approach. We’d tried working with a behaviorist in the past, but they didn’t offer board and train services and never seemed to find solutions that worked for us. Cosmic Canine had specialization in aggression and reactivity and they were honest about telling us that no training will ever be a permanent “fix” but will give us and Remy the tools to handle whatever situation we encounter. After a three week board and train, Remy was a new dog - so well trained, so much more capable of handling the things he found scary before, and most importantly, still so, so happy! We used the two in-home training lessons that came with the package we’d set up to practice more and to see how our integration into our daily lives had gone and that was so helpful! We were even able to bring back the person he nipped at for one of those sessions and now, almost a year later, Remy has great, calm interactions with them and everyone else who comes into our home. We recently had a baby and called Cosmic Canine to come for an in-person training session to help us understand how to keep both baby and dog safe, and specifically asked for Keri. She came and helped us understand how the tools we already have from last year’s training can benefit us in this new scenario and how we can help keep our baby safe while also making sure Remy feels safe, comfortable, and calm. We know Remy will always be a high energy dog with reactive tendencies, but as a new mom, I feel so comfortable with our setup at home and feel confident that Remy, my husband, and I have the tools to make sure everyone stays calm and safe.
