Core K9 Academy

We already have a 10 year old AmStaff and 8 year old Rottweiler. Our Rottie was perfectly content being 1 of 2 dogs and we weren't sure how she would take to our new addition, a 4-month old GoldenDoodle named Koda. Koda had way to much energy for Rolo's tastes and because of his super high energy, we were putting off integration with her until we could find the best way to do it. Enter Corey. Koda spent a week with him and his pack and came back a puppy who knew basic commands and socialization boundaries. It took us a few weeks after his return (mainly because we continued to use what Corey had taught us) but we're a 3 dog integrated household. Something not possible without Corey's training of Koda and his training of us as well. Koda for sure will spend time with Corey in the future, so he can continue to be his best self.

My German Shepherd puppy and I have been working with Corey for 1:1 sessions and often for over night boarding to socialize him with other trusted dogs. Corey has made himself available last minute on multiple occasions to take Leo over night, has drastically helped to improve his basic obedience commands, introducing us to a proper prong collar (and how to use it) among other training tips. He’s more than willing to go into whatever depth of training you’re looking for, and I find that Leo is always responsive, excited, and happy to work with Corey! In the spring, I’ll be confidently sending Leo to a 2 week board and train to deeper develop his skills. If you’re considering training for your pup or dog, don’t hesitate to get time on his schedule.

Two years ago we adopted a rescue pup who we love immeasurably. Because she was rescued from the streets, we lacked any background info on her. She is sweet as can be & fabulous with our children, but she also seemed to have anxiety issues. She would bark at anything that seemed to move outside of our house. She would tinkle every time she met someone new. She didn’t like men very much. We decided we wanted to invest in her & try to find someone who could help her & US figure out a better day to day routine. We had friends who had sent their dogs to a trainer, we reached out to them & they sent us Corey’s card for Core K9 Solutions. We sent our Nicky for a 2 week board & train in July. During this time, she did things we never thought possible. Our dog walking through Home Depot without barking at every person in sight?!?! How was this possible?!?! Corey is so knowledgeable, patient & kind. We would recommend him to anyone looking to enhance their relationship with their dog. We learned so much about what to do to help Nicky. But we also learned things not to do, how our cues were impacting her behavior. We didn’t just need to work on Nicky, we needed to work on us! And Corey shared the information & explanations in a way that made it all seem so apparent. How did we not recognize our behaviors?! We still have work to put in, she’s still not a tinkle free greeter, but that’s okay with us. She is who she is & we will keep working to give her brighter days. And we certainly feel more confident if that with Corey in our corner. We are so grateful to him for the positive impact he has had on our day to day lives with our dog. We are grateful to have someone who we can trust to care for our dog & assist us when we need it. He offers refreshers & assistance & boarding! He is truly top notch!

Let me start by saying that Corey was an amazing dog trainer. He knew what he was doing in every aspect of his training towards training dogs of all breeds. I personally recommend his 2 week board and train to anyone that’s looking to get some obedience work for there dog. I did the 2 week board in train with my 7 Month old German Shorthaired pointer (Ruger). Prior to the 2 week training course Corey came to my home when Ruger was about 5 and half months to do a one on one with Ruger he was very knowing of all different techniques on training with whatever behavior your dog is having. I knew immediately after our one on one session. I was sending Ruger to the 2 week board and train. During the two week board and train corey sent many updates (pictures and videos ) and provided different things my dog was doing during his trining. His 2 week program completely gave me a better in home experience with my dog. I am working towards a more off - leash approach with my dog as I don’t have a yard and live in a condo. I am looking to be sending (Ruger)back for additional training for another week to get more off leash practice in as his 3 week program is more yielded to that and my dog was still a puppy. So overall I want to to say thank you Corey for all the hard work you have done to transform Ruger into a more well behaved dog I really greatly appreciate you and your company on helping me.
