We adopted a one year old black retriever/bully mix in December 2023. We started training right away because I knew that it would be helpful, but I’m so glad I did and that I went with Davina. I did not have the knowledge to raise this dog properly when Moose first came to our home but now I am so much more confident in my ability to give this dog a good home. Davina is wonderful. Very calm and professional with the dog and the human! I’m neurodivergent (autistic with andhd) and she was able to work with me as I am. No judgement or bias. It was very beneficial to have an example to emulate when training Moose. Davina has a calm demeanor and tone and is a good teacher. She is also very patient, which is obviously a plus when training dogs. When Moose was getting comfortable enough to show me his frustration, I freaked out and thought I was turning him aggressive and thought I would have to send him back to the rescue. Davina helped me through that and encouraged me while letting me know it would be ok if I did need to send Moose back; that she would be with me all the way. I really needed that encouragement during that time and it absolutely saved my relationship with Moose. He is a good dog, but I was not understanding him and that created fear. Fear is not good when you are training. Now I am not afraid when Moose gets frustrated at me and jumps and/bites, but he does that WAY less than before. He’s a completely different dog from when we first started training. Whether you just need a little help with some basic training or your dog has some behavior issues, Davina can help you.

I took my timid, 8 year old foster dog, Abby, to Devina's class. Prior to the class, the only behavior she offered on request was Sit. I couldn't figure out how to get her to lay down, despite having trained several dogs in the past....I think she was just too nervous. But just as Devina predicted, after a couple weeks consistent practice, it all clicked in, & Abby was excited for each of our home training practices. She mastered down and stay, along with several other behaviors on cue, and at least gets the concept of loose-leash walking. She made huge progress in the classroom setting. The first session she was too nervous to even stay in the room the entire hour, but by the end she was walking near other people & dogs. It was a great experience for both of us, and I believe has made Abby more adoptable. Highly recommended!
