Cooper Creek Kennels

We wouldn't trust our dogs with anybody else! Both have been going to Cooper Creek Kennels since they were puppies and we have had nothing but great experiences! The dogs are always SO excited when we tell them where they are going and that speaks volumes. They care about their individual needs and understand their personalities, while ensuring they get the best care, have fun playing, and allow us, as the owners, to feel informed and at ease.

I own two bulldogs, or more accurately, I live in their house. Once I fully accepted that reality, I knew we needed help. They had no manners. I dreaded having company over because it triggered absolute chaos: barking like we were under siege, jumping on parents and grandparents, knocking over the grandkids...it was overwhelming. I even remodeled parts of my home to try to manage the madness (hello, useless gates). Any little noise set them off, and once one started barking, the other eagerly joined in. Things escalated when they began getting nippy with each other over toys and food. Neither would back down, and I found myself constantly on edge, waiting for the next fight and fearing how bad it might get. A couple of years ago, I boarded one of them at Cooper Creek and was impressed by how well she was cared for. I’m extremely picky about who watches my dogs, but they kept me updated with daily check-ins and photos that put my mind at ease. Fast forward to a few months ago, when I realized I couldn’t keep living in constant anxiety...and the dogs were clearly feeding off my stress. I reached out to Josie through her incredibly well-organized website and scheduled private lessons. Since my husband came along, she allowed us to bring both dogs. Truthfully, the training was more for us than for the dogs. Once we understood how our behavior was contributing to the chaos and learned how to properly handle different situations, the dogs started falling into line. Anyone who knows me knows my dogs are my babies. I’ve always treated them that way, which is probably why they thought they ruled the roost. Josie is incredibly knowledgeable, direct, and compassionate. She not only guided us through hands-on lessons but also educated us as owners. She offered helpful products like cots and collars (with no pressure to buy, just sharing great products she has found to like over the years), gave us tips on where to find supplies, and even loaned us books that had helped her on her own journey. And let me just say, don’t let her small size fool you. Josie takes no nonsense. From the moment we walked into her training building, she had control. Not just of the dogs, but of us, too. She doesn’t want excuses; she wants to see dogs and their humans living in harmony. If you’re at your wit’s end, or even if you just want to be a better dog owner, I cannot recommend Josie and Cooper Creek enough. We finally see the light of being able to feel at peace in our own home, and it’s all thanks to her.
