We’re halfway through training with Mike, and already seeing improvement after just three sessions. He’s helping us train and safely reintroduce two of our large-breed dogs who, after living together for four years, are no longer getting along. Mike has given us the guidance and confidence to better correct and manage our dogs. Even our most selective dog, who only likes a handful of people, trusts him and leans in for head pats. We completely trust Mike and understand that as owners, we need to consistently apply what he teaches in order to see the training stick.

Outstanding Dog Trainer for My Belgian Malinois A Game-Changer Experience We got our Belgian Malinois Loki as a puppy. We knew that her boundless energy and stubborn focus would need guidance from an expert. That’s when we found Mike at Complete K-9, and I can honestly say it changed everything. From the first session, Mike came in with a calm confidence that immediately put both me and my dog at ease. He started with the basic foundations and we built from there. He coached us on how to communicate clearly and lead effectively. In just a few weeks, we went from feeling overwhelmed to feelings of being in control and connected our dog. Her leash manners improved drastically and reactivity when walking has diminished significantly. Mike’s knowledge of Loki’s breed with his communication and patience with us and Loki is what sets him apart. If you have a high-energy dog and you need more than just a basic obedience class. You need someone who truly gets how to manage those issues, Mike is that trainer. His guidance was nothing short of transformative. Highly, highly recommended.

We started training with Mike because we wanted our dog to have basic manners, but we quickly realized she had her own ideas—she wanted to be the boss. From the start, Mike was all in. They say it’s the humans who need the training, not the dogs, and wow, is that true! Mike did an amazing job teaching us how to communicate with our dog in a way she understands. Training wasn’t always easy. Our dog had a lot of attitude when asked to do simple things, and at times, it felt frustrating. But Mike went above and beyond to figure out what was really going on. He took the time to understand her personality—what fueled her sass and stubbornness—and adjusted the training to fit her specific needs. That’s what truly set him apart for us: rather than following a rigid program, he focused on core principles of dog behavior and adapted as we progressed. He also made sure training felt like real life. His own dogs often “sat in” on lessons, providing natural distractions, and we gradually worked from indoors to outdoor spaces, trails, and even roads—ensuring our dog’s training worked everywhere, not just in a controlled environment. Another huge plus was Mike’s real-time feedback. He didn’t just tell us what to do—he explained why it worked (or didn’t), helping us understand how our dog thinks. That knowledge made all the difference. Now, our dog is confident, and that confidence has brought so much calmness and trust between us. We initially considered standard group lessons, but we’re so glad we went this route instead. Mike is committed to being a lifelong resource for our dog, and that kind of support is priceless. One of the biggest surprises in our training was how Mike helped us solve our dog’s tendency to lunge at cars on walks. We expected the usual approach—desensitization exercises, rewarding calm behavior near traffic, and so on. Instead, the real solution came from something much bigger: learning to communicate with our dog and setting clear expectations in all aspects of our walks. Once we established a solid foundation, she naturally understood that lunging wasn’t part of what was expected. It was a lightbulb moment—so many unwanted behaviors fade away when a dog has structure and guidance. We’re beyond grateful and couldn’t recommend Mike more to anyone looking for a trainer who truly understands dogs!

My Fiancé and I brought our lab to Mike after he began showing signs of aggression over food and guarding certain objects around the house. Mike sold us a package of 6 training sessions, which we paid upfront. We made it abundantly clear to Mike that our #1 concern was addressing the aggressive behaviors. After completing 5 of the 6 training sessions Mike had not spent any time on any of the issues we had discussed at length in the initial consultation, so we chose to discontinue training with Mike. We reached out to Mike numerous times to collect the amount of the final session that we never completed (roughly $130). After many months of calling and leaving messages he finally called us back. After a lot of back and forth he finally agreed to refund us $100 for the incomplete service. It has been 6 weeks and we have still not received our refund. Make sure to never pay him in full up front because you will never see a refund when he doesn’t address your dog’s issues. Our mistake for trusting him and giving him all the money upfront. Buyer beware. UPDATE: Mike has now gone to my landscaping business's review page and left negative reviews of my business. He is not a customer of mine, he has never been a customer of mine, he is leaving negative reviews of my business because he doesn't like that I left the above review of his business. Very very unprofessional. I would stay far away from this man.

Mike is great at what he does! I have had a positive experience. My dog is always happy when we pull up his driveway and normally pooped when we leave. I would say he is more like a human trainer (He takes the time to work with you to show you what your doing wrong and correct you. As well as teaches you how to handle your pup/dog.) My puppy would constantly try to pull when walking him. That was the main reason we seeked a trainer. Mike came highly recommended. We are almost done with my dogs training. Next we will work on getting him off leash trained.
