How legitimate and honest and can kennels and ranch puppy breeders be trusted
It depends on the facility, compliance with agencies, cleanliness etc. How does all the state, local and Akc inspections perform. Many professional kennels and ranch are much better and reputable than an unlicensed, inexperienced and unknowable home breeder. You would need to discuss the specifics with the individual.

We would like a chocolate female lab, do you ever have those?

We have now purchased 2 Golden Retrievers from Colorado’s Finest. Our 2 year old is very healthy, beautiful, and perfect in every way. She has brought a lot of joy to our family. She has been the best dog we have ever had. We receive many compliments about her from people when we’re out for walks. We’re so excited to have a new beautiful little puppy to join her. I purchased a puppy from this breeder 3 years ago. At 9 months old he was diagnosed with (Genetically caused) elbow dysplasia in both front legs requiring a $3500 surgery. Since then he’s had ongoing kidney and ear problems, and was recently diagnosed with HNPK, another genetic disorder.
