A long overdue review - Matt is the absolute BEST!! We sent our almost 1-year old dog, Buoy, to Matt for a 3.5 week board and train session. He was not "bad" per se, but had selective hearing, could not walk on a leash without attempting to choke himself to death, and was pyschotically excited to see every dog we ever passed, which made living in the city very difficult. Matt's programming taught us effective communication, how the right kind of punishment can teach Buoy how to make the right decisions on his own, how to unlock the power of play (big fetch guy over here!) and how to have fun while learning how to peacefully exist with other dogs and people. We've been able to have so much fun with Buoy because of the skills and confidence Matt instilled in all of us! Many many thanks to Matt (and his whole family!) for their patience, thoughtfulness and absolute love of dogs. Cannot recommend Matt enough!!

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Matt and the incredible work he did with our dog, Oakley. When we brought our dog to him, Oakley had significant aggression issues, and we truly felt like we had exhausted every option. Outstanding trainer who truly understands reactive dogs! If you have a reactive dog, you know how stressful daily walks and having people over can be. Matt helped us completely turn things around. He didn't just train our dog Blue — he educated us on the why behind the reactivity and gave us practical, step-by-step tools to manage it in real-time. What sets Matt apart is his focus on educating us as owners. Instead of just giving quick fixes, he took the time to explain the root causes behind Blue's behavior, which helped us understand what was actually triggering the reactivity. We're grateful of our experience with the 10-day package of day school for our 6 month chocolate Lab, Seamus. Behavioral and obedience improvements were evident after one day. After each session, Matt taught us how to connect w/Seamus and reenforce the base knowledge that he'd instilled through the training, an aspect of dog training often overlooked. We're an experienced Lab family and Matt delivered what other trainers only promised with our other Labs. Seamus has now graduated to mentor dog and we couldn't be happier with the progress. We never expected to have a Lab this well behaved at what is now 7 months. Thanks Matt!
