Training can start as early as 8 weeks old. Puppies are highly receptive to learning at a young age, making it an ideal time to introduce basic commands and socialization.

Is it ever too late to start training a dog?
It's never too late to start training! Here at Clearwater Dog Training, we accept dogs of all ages and specialize in training rescue dogs. While puppies may learn more quickly, adult dogs can also learn new behaviors and commands with patience and consistency.

I’ve rescued two dogs through Nikeno’s and received group and individual dog training through Clearwater Dog Training. The training is invaluable! Both dogs were 1+ years old, so training was necessary to help the dogs relearn good habits. I learned in training how to understand my pups behavior and how to set the right boundaries for them to succeed. They’re both totally different dogs than the first day I rescued them — they’re loving, caring, and a great part of our family. I credit their success to everything I learned doing training classes at Clearwater!

We adopted two puppies just before covid lockdowns started and that resulted in unsocialized misbehaved dogs. We took both for weekly classes and have seen a vast improvement in behavior and have moved on to bringing them to group classes. They are completely different dogs and getting better each and every class. I cannot recommend Clearwater enough for whatever your training needs are. We also took them in for Christmas pics which was a great and fun thing to do to support the rescue efforts of Nikeno's Second Chances Dog Rescue.
