Citizen K9 Dog Training And Agility

Unfortunately had a bad experience with this facility. We brought our German Shepherd, Finn for day training. We were under the impression, per the website, that Brandy would be working with our dog. Instead we were given videos of several different staff working with our dog. We attended the group classes as well. This facility may not use e-collars, but they practice dominance over a dog and punishment. We were instructed to yell at our dog and yank on his collar all of class. The training videos sent reflected the same. In one video a staff member yanks our dog so hard, his whole body turns. It is extremely alarming and the owner did nothing with our concerns.

Brandi and her staff are AMAZING! The Boys are in love with Brandi! They will do anything for her!. Thank you Debbie, Ashley Rissa, and a few more that I can not recall(I am so sorry!) We took our dogs(about a year old) to obedience class and the first night Brandi had then following her without holding a leash! She gives dog owners all the tools they need to have successful dogs. It is up to us to follow through. Our 2 peekapoos now go weekly for enrichment where they learn confidence, independence and it helps alleviate anxiety. They come home exhausted! They also have standing appointments for grooming. Ashley is phenomenal. In the beginning The Boys were so afraid and anxious. She worked so hard with them to get them used to everything going on. They now lay on the table and go to sleep! She has helped us find the perfect lengths for us to mange and them be warm in the winter and cool in the summer. We can not say her name in our house because they get so excited. Citizen k9 doesn't not believe in medicating dogs. They use consistency, kindness, and love.

Do not recommend for boarding or training. Editing my review due to the reply of owner saying she never had my dog. We actually extended his visit and paid an additional $1,000 for a total of 3k and she did nothing for my dog because they were busy moving facilities which they didn’t even bother to tell us would be happening when we boarded him. Posted is our invoice. Updated I posted to review because I forgot to do it at the time we got our dog back and someone I know asked me about where I boarded my dog when we relocated back home to VB recently. Then I remembered I never posted about my experience. First this owner said she never even had my dog now she is making you tube videos of my dog running around. She had him for month I hope they let him outside for a few mins. Regardless of how many times the owner rebuts my review the fact is we did NOT have a good experience and my dog was no different. That doesn’t mean someone else won’t have a good experience but we did not and spent a lot of money. We picked this business due to its proximity to our new home. We would have never chosen them had I known they would be moving to downtown Norfolk and the follow up classes would also be there. That is the first problem we should have been told about the move upfront!!!. We did take Bear to 2 follow up trainings but the distance just didn’t make sense. My dog already knew basic commands when we dropped him off and I never said she didn’t ever throw a ball for him. I said I needed help socializing him as he was a Covid puppy and walking on a leash which after 3k there was zero improvement. When bear was ready to be picked up I was given the address of the Norfolk facility which I didn’t even know about and when we went he was outside in a kennel that was dirty. The facility was gross and had water and dehumidifiers everywhere and boxes etc as they were just moving in and getting ready to do floors and paint. I’m sorry you can’t accept as a business owner you had a client with a bad experience. I reached out to you and told you this after we picked him up so this isn’t nothing you didn’t know about. I just wanted to let people know about our experience that is what google reviews are for. Also for the record I am from Virginia Beach born and raised I was in Charlotte for a few years and moved back home.
