Andrew is an outstanding trainer! He was first recommended to me by a friend whose dog had been successfully trained by Andrew. The positive changes in my friend’s dog’s behavior were so significant and obvious I decided to have my male black lab Doctor go through Andrew’s board & train program too. My black lab was two years-old at the time, friendly, happy and headstrong, as well as totally unaware of his 95-lb strength. After Doctor completed the board & train program, he was a solid citizen—he knew all the basic commands like sit, down, stay, heel, place, come, leave it and drop it, but more importantly Doctor was just so much easier to live with and more enjoyable to take along on outings. Even though Andrew was strict with him during training, Doctor loved Andrew, so when a year later I needed to go on an extended trip out of the country for two weeks, I boarded Doctor with him. I felt comfortable leaving the country knowing that Andrew would take excellent care of him in my absence. Two years later, I recently again took Doctor back to Andrew for a few days of remedial leash training, with very positive results. Over the previous two years, I’d gotten a little inconsistent and lax in not always holding Doctor to Andrew’s high behavioral training standards, which is why the refresher training was needed. My goal now is to get Doctor certified as a therapy dog, so that I can take him to visits patients at local hospitals. He’s such a friendly and gentle dog, and I know patients will absolutely love him. If it weren’t for the positive behaviors Doctor has learned from Andrew, though, becoming a therapy dog would not even be a realistic goal. Thanks again Andrew & Citizen K9!!!

We sent our two pups to 3 weeks of board and train with Andrew. The pups were 4 months and 8 months at the time. We wanted to accelerate their obedience training and also nip some negative behavior in the bud, such as jumping on people, chasing the cats, pulling on the leash, chewing on the furniture, and others. Andrew managed a miracle. Max and Mia came back completely changed! It is an absolute pleasure to be around them! Andrew also gave us detailed instructions on how to continue to reinforce their training at home. Now we can move on to agility training, teaching them tricks, going out with them, taking trips. We highly recommend Citizen K-9 and Andrew!

Andrew did an amazing job with our Goldendoodle puppy last winter, I was pregnant and I also have an 8 year old son so it was important to me to get our dog enrolled in board and train so he would be familiar with basic commands and have the most fulfilling doggy life in our growing family. Unfortunately my partner left the family and it was just me and my babies and the puppy and I couldn’t keep up with training at home when he returned and our pup has really regressed and I feel overwhelming guilt about it, if anyone can help us in any way it would mean the world but long story short is that his training was fantastic but if you’re not able to keep it up at home you’ll throw it all away. I’m sure I’m the only one who needed to learn this the hard way but I thought I’d put it here either way so that anyone in a similar position will either hold off on getting a puppy or be better prepared to take on continued training at home.
