Chomps Dog Training

We Took our dog who had crazy separation anxiety and behavior issues here. She’s so well trained now we actually didn’t believe it for awhile haha - she goes in and out of the kennel easily, no accidents in the house, great on the leash and great with other dogs, she can be at home without us and isn’t losing her mind, her recall is 100% she’s more confident and responsive, I could go on… You definitely need to keep up with the training and do what they tell you to after pickup but it is SO worth it. These guys know their stuff. We’ve got the best pup now!

We brought our 4 year old Pitbull to Chomps. My dog was great with people and kids. However, she viciously reacted to other dogs and tried to chased any wildlife within eyesight. We live in the middle of nowhere and wanted a dog we could hike with. Also take in public without the aggression towards other animals. And on top of that we were getting an unexpected puppy. Marco was our trainer. She was gone 4 weeks. Our dog was adopted so I did not know if four weeks away might confuse her. Chomps assured me she would be fine. The twice weekly text updates and videos of the training help greatly. On Pick-up Day, the Chomps trainers first sat with me explaining what to expect. Answered questions I had. I answered questions they had. Gave me advice on the new puppy/dog pack mentality I was coming into and what to keep an eye on. Marco then showed us the applied techniques used for her commands and ongoing training. He worked with me and my dog to make sure we understood what was expected. How and when to apply commands. How to approach certain situations, etc. We now take her to public places where she would have previously been uncontrollable. A quiet command if she seems to taking notice in other animals and she’s back in focus. We can go for a hike off leash on our property without her chasing wildlife. And most important for us: she comes when called. But Chomps training isn’t magic. As the pet owner you need to continue the work the trainers started. Everyday you reenforce what the dog has been taught with daily training. It’s important And the already great bond our dog has gotten even tighter. And with the new puppy? They are living in harmony.
