Chicago Canine Company

I had been to a group class and two trainers before my 110lb Dutch Shepherd American Bull Dog rescue started with Chicago Canine Company and Prentice Kidd. After working with Prentice, I can't understand how these other trainers claim that title! Prentice got my dog reactive, alpha, boy heeling and listening in almost no time. I was only in town for a month and he stayed on me (with just the right touch), came to us, and made miracles happen--and Jaz and I had fun! Before Jaz was dog reactive, sometimes dog aggressive, and hyper. You can't relax with a giant breed with that combo. With the skills Prentice helped us gain, we go on walks without anxiety. What a difference. I can't wait to get back to Chicago and train some more!

Prentice Kidd is a great dog trainer. He helped me learn how to work with my American Staffordshire terrier. My previous dogs were laid back, love everything and everyone types. While the Staffordshire is very loving, he is a handful. Prentice taught me how to train him to go to his kennel with no arguement. He taught me to show him I was the boss, not him. No punishments! His punishments were losing his rewards. This dog loves his treats. Whenever he did something right, a bit of hot dog or cheese was his reward. If he didn't follow commands he did not get anything. It didn't take long for him to figure out how to get those treats. Prentice showed me all the steps and taught me how my dog thinks. A real dog psychologist.

We have been training with Prentice for almost 7 months now, and have absolutely loved working with him. He has always been more than helpful, in not only training our dog, but also us, the owners. We never feel rushed when he’s working with our dog Rogue, and always takes his time to make sure we are on the same page. Ever since we started training with Prentice, Rogue is a much more well mannered, and obedient dog. He really knows what he’s doing, and won’t just give you quick fixes, but rather long term obedience. I recommend him to everyone that has a dog, if your dog has any issues, big or small, he’s the guy to go to!
