Rick board and trained my dogs for 2 weeks and they are so much better behaved than they were beforehand. My pitty would not get out of the pool before training and now she will when we use the commands he taught us. Also, my pitty is aggressive and he still helped us. It was a relief to use his boarding services so we could go on vacation and has good pricing. They send text updates and pictures the entire time. Thanks Rick and your team for all you've done. We just picked up our 2 labs today from their 2 week board train at CharlieBar and the progress they made is incredible. Ricardo, we can't thank you enough for all of your hard work with Willow & Humphrey these past few weeks. The difference in their behavior is absolutely noticeable and considering how they were when we dropped them off, pretty remarkable. You are outstanding at what you do and it is fascinating to watch!

My heart is so happy! Charlie Barr saved our lives and gave us the tools to live a better quality of life with our dog. My rescue dog has struggled with extreme fear, reactivity and aggression for years. While he is wonderful with us and his dog siblings, this made many aspects of life difficult outside of that - he couldn’t go near any people or any other animals, trips to the vet were next to impossible and required sedation, and it limited us from being able to travel or even have people over. Our relationship started with Charlie Barr when NO ONE would help us with boarding our dog when we had an emergency come up and had to leave town. They welcome him with open arms, give him time to decompress and handled him with care while he boarded. They never made me feel ashamed of the struggles we were having. I also really admired seeing all the work in the community he and his staff are doing with local rescues, giving his time to help rehabilitate and work with shelter dogs. Fast forward a few years, we were ready to send him in for a 2 week board and train. They sent updates and pictures daily, and within a few days we were witnessing our dog do things we never thought he could ever do. He was socializing with other dogs, walking and working with multiple people. We absolutely lost it (in a good way!) when we saw Ricardo walking our dog through a packed restaurant patio on a football Saturday - walking past several other dogs, people - and he was relaxed, confident and happy. The normal reactivity was nonexistent. This is a dog who’s never been in close contact with anyone - GROUND BREAKING! We picked him up today from Charlie Barr and we’re given a detailed one on one session with Ricardo for the hand off. He showed us every command and expectation in detail, and gave us every tool we need to continue with the training on our own. We asked Ricardo about upcoming events in our home and without hesitation he offered to come over to our home and help us with guidance. We can finally work toward a new normal. Our dog can finally begin to have a life with new experiences in and out of the house… but also can be happy, healthy and stress free in situations we’ve always had to avoid. Would I do it all over again? In a heartbeat. Will I recommend everyone to them? Absolutely. THANK YOU RICARDO AND YOUR STAFF FOR EVERYTHING! You truly don’t know how much of a difference in our lives you’ve made and our future. We cannot wait to start implementing your training in our home every day (already started!), to continue bringing our dogs to boarding and future in home training.
