Certified Canine Services

Our rambunctious, slightly aggressive one-year old male dog has had three stays with Certified Canine Service in Pulaski totaling five weeks. Each time we have picked him up, we saw a very positive improvement in his behavior. While our dog is far from perfect, Rachel’s patience (including responding to frantic text messages from my wife at odd hours) and tips have made an intolerable situation tolerable. About 8 years ago, I had an Akita named Angel that was very set in her ways and stubborn and I had pretty much given up on trying to “fix” her until she started just taking off and running across a very busy Route 11 and not wanting to come home until she was good and ready. I was friends with Rachel at the time and she suggested I try a program at Certified Canine. I was skeptical because Angel was about 7 years old and I completely believed in the “can’t teach an old dog new tricks” adage. After 3 weeks with Neil and Rachel, Angel became a new dog. She no longer took off on her day long adventures and avoided the road at all costs. She was far more sociable as we were able to let her off her leash/chain and so she could be more involved with family activities with no fear of her running off. As far as I was concerned, they saved her life. She lived a happy 5 more years with us until sadly she passed. Last summer, I got a new puppy; Rudder. He was a wild and crazy, but such a happy, loving boy. I knew from the second I got him that I would be sending him to Certified Canine when he was ready so I wouldn’t encounter the same problems I had with Angel. It is such a blessing to be able to have friends like Neil and Rachel that can give your dog such a great adult life like Angel had, and a very well behaved young “puppyhood” like Rudder is having. They are always there to help when I have any training questions and I know they genuinely care about not only my dog, but all the dogs they help. Thanks so much for everything you do!

I sent my imported German Shepherd to Certified Canine Services for their 3 week training program. A high drive German Shepherd is quite the challenge.If it wasn't for the extensive professional training I received from Neil and Rachael, I would not have the amazing Shepherd that I have today. He listens and obeys with complete confidence that was instilled in him by his training from just a puppy. I board Sig at Certified Canine all the time and he can't wait for the door to open to see Neil and Rachael on the other side.I have referred family and friends for their training knowing the superior professional service they will receive. Neil and Rachael are the best and go above and beyond with any problems that you may encounter after the training period. They are truly only a phone call away.

I sent my dog here for a 2 week stay for their puppy development program. When I left him he was calm, even tempered and confident. When I got him back he was fearful and anxious beyond belief. They were supposed to crate train him - he hates his crate and will not go in it. They were supposed to teach him to walk nicely on a leash - they only accomplished this by putting a small puppy on a choke chain, and even then, he spent the entire time pulling. They were supposed to socialize him with other dogs - every time we run into another dog, especially one that barks he stops dead and stares in terror, clearly having no idea what the heck he is supposed to do. He was given back to me with a huge limp that took over a week to dissipate. In the 5 weeks since I have gotten him back I have been working tirelessly with another trainer trying to undo the damage that was done. The biggest issue was that they clearly did not amend their training methods to my dog's personality, ignoring his discomfort, and forging ahead with their ideas about the best way to train, rather than figuring out what worked best for him and I will be paying for it, quite literally, for a very long time.
