Cave Creek K9 Training

We adopted an American Bulldog (Evie) from the Marcopa County Animal Shelter. We didn't know her background because she was a stray. Evie has been a sweetheart from day one, but we found out early on that she needed obedience training. Evie was horrible on a leash, no concept of how to walk without pulling, and practically tripping us and pulling us to the ground. Also, she was very anxious and focused on other dogs. One time Evie wiggled out of harness, and raced across the street, and began causing problems with two very nice dogs being walked on a leash by their owner, this after having her for only one week. We started to walk without her, because it was too much work. It was very upsetting, we thought about returning her. We knew we couldn't do this to her. This is when we started to researching dog trainers. We came across Rodd at Cave Creek K9 Training. I called Rodd and explained what we were dealing with. Rodd came out to the house a couple days later to meet with us. Rodd listened to our issues, and then went on to explain Evie would be best for his board and train program. Evie would live in his home during the three weeks while he worked on these issues. We decided to go ahead with the training. We liked that Evie would be in a home setting, that's not the case with some trainers. During the three weeks we missed Evie terribly, but Rodd gave updates and sent some videos of her progress. We were quite pleased from what we saw. Evie has since been returned to us, and is so much better behaved. Rodd spent more than an hour with us upon her return teaching us all the commands Evie had been taught. He even walked outside with us making sure we understood the commands on a walk. A few days later I meet him at a park to go over the commands in a setting with alot of distractions, where there were many people and other dogs. Evie has done so well, it's a joy to walk her now. She does still get a little anxious around other dogs, but it is controlled and so much better. Rodd came to our house once again to go over everything we had been taught. This allowed for us to ask any questions, and for him to work these commands with Evie. It was a good review for us and Evie. You have to remember it's not just the dog that needs training, it's also the owner(s). As the owner(s) you have to diligently practice these things daily. The real work begins at home. Rodd gave us the tools, we've been putting them into practice, and Evie has done great. We highly recommend Cave Creek K9 Training.

I reached out to Cave Creek K9 due to some puppy issues I needed help with. Rodd called me right away and we talked about what I was dealing with. We scheduled a time for him to swing by and meet my pup and see a little of what I was experiencing. We scheduled the training and he sent pictures and videos to me while she was in his care. My puppy really likes him, which tells me that she respects him and he took really good care of her. He was able to train my daughter and I so we could be successful in taking control of our puppy and be the pack leaders. He helped my daughter build the confidence needed to put her foot down and get our puppy to respond to her. Our house is a much happier and healthier with the training we have all received. I highly recommend his services.

We purchased the 1 week puppy training package and had a wonderful experience! Our puppy learned some really good basics and was much better with his potty training upon return. They really treated our puppy like their own. We saw great improvement and Cave Creek K9 Training went above and beyond providing more training than we had originally expected. We have found our permanent trainer for our puppy and will be using them for advanced training as well. We highly recommend this business if your looking for professional dog training at a fair price and where they treat your pet with care.

Had a two year old German shepherd with a few behavioral issues, so after doing some research in the Phoenix area I decided to drop her off with Rodd. He was great at listening to what I explained were the issues needing to be addressed behavioral wise, and applying that to the training throughout the three weeks she was there. Also great at giving me instruction to build on the training going forward.The difference was night and day when she returned. 10/10 satisfied with my experience, always great to find someone that takes passion in his or her job that goes above and beyond.
