Cathy's Canines

So we adopted a dog to bring into our family of 5 children all under 8 years old. It was a challenge because this dog was adopted from a shelter, had fear issues, and our kids are pretty active and don't always listen like any 2 year old. We sent the dog to Cathy for her four day train and board program after having her come over twice for training sessions with the family. This cute little beagle mix came back a new dog. The first walk I had with him the next morning was worth the whole fee in itself. He listens, he is happier, and most importantly our family feels confident and prepared to be dog owners. We let our last dog before kids run the house, but that wasn't okay now. Cathy used great communication skills, was stern but loving to our dog. She would text pictures and videos cause she knew we missed him and the kids loved that. She even texted multiple times the 24 hours after just to checkin. I can't say enough good things. If you are considering a dog trainer and you live within 50 miles, you don't need to look anywhere else.

Cathy worked with our dog first in private lessons and then also in a group class. Our dog's behavior has improved tremendously. She no longer jumps up on people that come into our house and has better manners on walks. She also helped us improve behavior with my parent's dog. Our 2 yr old dog has now learned that my parent's 10 yr old dog doesn't enjoy the same type of play. They can now be in the same room without barking or lurching at each other. We can't say enough about Cathy's training.

Wonderful trainer! Shortly after my family brought home a 3YO rescue St Bernard, Cathy visited us for a consultation. Cathy provided accurate insight into our dog's temperament and personality - so helpful, considering our St Bernard is an older rescue dog. We have been training with Cathy for 4 weeks now, and I want to highly recommend her to anyone who needs dog training, a dog walker or just has questions. Our training has focused on proper walking technique and socialization. I appreciate Cathy's patience and her firm, yet kind, approach. We've experienced tremendous results from her training! Oh yeah, and our dog loves her!
