Carol's Canine Training and Behavior Counseling, LLC

We are so lucky to have found Carol. She has changed how we dog parent and we are forever grateful. She shares so many easy, researched-based strategies, never makes you feel like you are doing things wrong, listens closely, quickly responds to questions, and sends you home with such useful handouts to help. But we are most grateful of how she included our daughter in the training. She empowered her to work with our dog, guiding her gently to create the best environment for us and our dog.

My husband and I are owners of a 2 1/2 year old berna-doodle, Violet. We are both retired, consider ourselves to be high energy people and have always had a dog. Nonetheless, we were not quite ready for the amount of energy that Violet has! She struggles with visitors and excessive jumping, barking and listening. Nothing we were doing seemed to help. We have had just one session with Carol (so far) and already we have noticed a huge difference in her behaviors. Carol spent a lot of time before and after our session, getting to know Violet. We worked on several different games at our session, to help with her behaviors, which we have been practicing. In addition to the information that was provided at our session, the following morning, Carol sent all of the training information (and more) via e-mail. It was a lot to take in, therefore, we so appreciated the information being provided in a written format. Immediately following our training session, we left for a mini-vacation with family and friends. I was feeling a little bit uptight, as Violet would be in a very challenging situation. She would be with new people, including children, in the same house. Day one was a bit stressful, as we got to our destination at around 7 p.m., had not yet eaten and needed to unload. In addition, there were lots of new people going in and out. Violet started off her usual self, jumpy, barky, friendly, however, not listening. We began doing the training tricks taught by Carol, pretty much immediately. By day two, people were continuing to come in and out, many new, and Violet was notably MUCH MORE relaxed and less reactive. Our friends and family couldn't believe the change in her behaviors, nor could we, just from one day of training. We are looking forward to our next session, in the meantime, we are practicing everything she taught us! We feel blessed to have found Carol, only wished it were sooner! We would HIGHLY recommend!

We had a great experience with taking a class from Carol! We love her approach to training and learned about so many practical tips and tools in addition to the obedience training. We also really appreciated her willingness to stay after class/email/take phone calls to help us with specific concerns with our rescue. Her tips have helped us greatly, and after a couple weeks of implementing her recommendations, we were able to eliminate the fear-based barking of our dog. Carol is a wealth of resources on pretty much every dog topic imaginable, helps you understand the way dogs think, and offers a realistic and non-judgmental approach to solving concerns.
