I was looking for a dog trainer for my 7mo old Golden Retriever who needed some manners and bird dog training. An acquaintance of mine said he ran into the owner of Cape West at a festival and his dogs were well behaved. After a few text messages and a visit we decided to trust Cape West with one of our prized family members. Heath and Caitlin were the kind of people we knew would give our pup the same love that we would. Heath took Crash (our Golden) and treated him like their own. The training was top notch and communication was great as well. Weekly updates with videos and explanations helped us know what was next and to see the progress. He was able to turn our young golden into a hunt ready bird dog. First season coming up and we have high hopes. We took the time to write this review for the person who is looking for quality training from quality people. We couldn’t recommend Cape West more.

We have known the Speck family for years and they are wonderful people. When I rescued a year old yellow lab, I knew he had great potential and could be trained. I was very happy that CapeWest could take him for obedience training. I knew not only would my dog receive professional and quality training, but the family would love him as their own pet. My lab came home a much better dog, easily follows commands such as sit, place, come, etc. and is great on a leash now. Most of all he still has his terrific personality which is so endearing. I also bought one of CapeWest's already trained dogs, and the British Lab is proving to be not only a great companion but a wonderful addition to our home. I highly recommend CapeWest for dog training.

I took my Airedale terrier to have her go though obedient and tracking school. She was 7 month old when Heath started to work with her. Before she would jump on everyone, wouldn’t set unless you had a treat to give her, would not stay, would not lay down and had no clue how to track game. Penny will now set, stay, doesn’t jump and she will place and stay there until I tell her to get up. I get complements all the time on how well behaved she is. Tracking she is 4 for 4 on recovery 1 hog, 3 white tail in 4 weeks. I think that speaks for its self.
