I genuinely think Andrea is a very knowledgeable dog trainer. I completed the six-session private training package with my reactive terrier mix, and I learned a lot. She provided great tools, including a slip lead, e-collar, and training e-book, and I felt the little over $1,200 I spent was fair. The reason I can't give five stars is because the communication and scheduling didn't match the experience I was expecting. Andrea canceled three sessions, so what started in April didn't finish until mid-June. Since consistency is such an important part of training, I felt the long gaps between sessions meant we had to rely on the training tools and work on our own even more than I expected. Communication was also inconsistent. There were times I had to follow up multiple times to reschedule, remind her to send videos or homework she mentioned. I drove 30 minutes to meet her, waited about 15 minutes, and after calling and texting, I didn't receive a phone call back. About 20 minutes later she texted to say she had forgotten to put our session on her calendar and asked to reschedule. I completely understand that running a one-person business is a lot, and I truly believe Andrea cares about her clients and their dogs. My dog did make progress, and I don't regret working with her. I just felt like we occasionally fell through the cracks, and for the investment, I expected more consistent communication and follow-through. I think that's fair for potential clients to know when making their decision.

We had such a positive experience with Andrea! Benny and our other corgi had a history of reactivity to the point where our lives were pretty limited when it came to involving our dogs. But last night Benny was able to walk around a very busy campground with dogs barking completely unphased. He’s also able to hold a “down” and “place” for sustained periods of time and calm himself which has already came in handy so often. We can tell he is so much more confident over all! We are very appreciative of Andrea’s hard work over the last month 🩵

Our Pup Astro was dealing with reactivity and anxiety. We did a board and train program with Andrea and she helped Astro become so much more confident, calm, and happy. Our lives are completely changed for the better and she helped give us the confidence we needed to guide Astro and continue building on everything she learned. The training investment was worth every penny I couldn’t recommend Andrea enough!!

Andrea is so good with dogs! My little guy is always happy to see her! I was raising my dog from puppy hood (which I hadn’t really done before) she helped him become a calmer pup! and once my guy hit 7months he suddenly discovered prey drive! Off leash fun was no longer an option even in the backyard ! Andrea taught me how to successfully get him e-collar conditioned In one session! now he can run as far as he wants in wide open fields and have the time of his life! but has the comfort of knowing when to return, so he doesn’t get lost or run into trouble! She also gave me some options on activities for his prey drive - now he’s a flirt pole boy! and will happily choose me and a play session over a wild goose chase. I will definitely be coming to her with any future dogs I get! Me and my boy also love the social club meet ups so we can practice our doggy and people manners! My dog is not only my pet but my co-worker and best friend, we go almost everywhere together. having a trustworthy person like Andrea to leave him with when I’m away or to help us when we run into issues has been such a relief! Me and my dog have a better relationship now and I recommend her to everyone I meet.

We can’t recommend Andrea at Canyons Canine enough! After our dog Kiara was attacked by another dog, she became fearful and reactive, which eventually led to her lunging, barking, and even biting while out on hikes. I tried for months to help her on my own, but her behavior kept getting worse and our world became very small. We couldn’t hike, camp, or even enjoy simple walks anymore. After starting a 6-week training program with Andrea, everything changed. By our 4th session, Kiara was walking beautifully on leash and her reactivity towards dogs was gone. We’ve now completed 5 sessions plus an all-day dog social camp, and Kiara is calm, confident, and learning to be well-mannered around other dogs. This training has truly given us our lives back, and we are so excited to continue with Andrea’s weekly camps. She has an incredible gift for understanding dogs and supporting owners through tough challenges. If you’re struggling with your dog, Andrea is the trainer you want by your side!
