We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Canis Dog Behavior and Training’s 5-Week Private Plus Dog Training Program, and we cannot recommend them highly enough! From the very beginning, the program was thoughtful, personalized, and incredibly effective. Our trainer, Jen, was truly fantastic. She was knowledgeable, patient, encouraging, and genuinely cared about helping both our dog and our family succeed. Jen took the time to understand our dog’s individual personality and needs and gave us practical, easy-to-follow strategies that we could actually incorporate into our everyday lives. She always made us feel supported and never judged, even when we were struggling with something. Over the five weeks, we saw such a positive transformation—not only in our dog’s behavior and confidence, but also in our own confidence as dog owners. Jen was wonderful at explaining the why behind the training, which made it so much easier for us to understand how to communicate with our dog and reinforce positive behaviors consistently. The private format was especially valuable because the training was completely tailored to our dog and our specific goals. Every session felt productive, positive, and customized to what we needed at that point in our training journey. Jen is an absolute gem, and Canis Dog Behavior and Training provides an exceptional program. If you’re considering professional dog training, we wholeheartedly recommend Canis—and especially Jen! We are so grateful for everything she taught us and for the amazing progress we’ve made.

five stars for bobby and jen - they spent over an hour speaking with us and listening to our concerns for our dogs, bowie and bennett. they were patient, non-judgmental, and warm. while we have decided to go to another training program that's closer to home and with our neighbor and their new puppy, i just wanted to say thank you! and let bobby and jen know that our pups did very, very well in big bear (at the airbnb, the lake, and even restaurants and shops!) - maybe they heard and understood your guys' tips! wishing you all, humans and pups alike, only the best.

I had such an amazing experience with Canis Behavior Training! I’m beyond happy with the progress my dog made and I’m so grateful for all the work they put into him. His trainer, Hunter, did an incredible job. He was patient, professional, knowledgeable, and you can really tell he cares about the dogs he works with. The difference I’ve seen in my dog is amazing, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I definitely recommend Canis Behavior Training to anyone looking for a great training program. We did so much research when looking into board-and-train programs, and after visiting CANIS, we knew this was the place we wanted to go with for Brutus. We had such a wonderful experience with Kaitlyn and truly cannot recommend her enough! From the very beginning, she was incredibly informative, helpful, and so easy to talk to. She always took the time to explain things in a way that made sense and made us feel completely comfortable asking questions throughout the entire process. We also really appreciated the updates along the way and being able to see Brutus’s progress throughout his training.

Our dog just graduated from Canis board and train and she is a much more confident dog! Before training, she was afraid of everyone other than my husband and I as well as other dogs but on graduation day I watched her playing with another dog and then walk up to other people and let them pet her. Of course, learning obedience was an expected part of the training but the confidence-building was key and her trainer Christiana did an amazing job with that! I look forward to the next set of classes to continue her progress and I highly recommend Canis for all your pup's training needs.
