Canines At Training

Kirsten is the absolute reason that I continue training at Canines at Training. Her expertise in dog training is truly remarkable. She has an exceptional talent for reading dogs and adeptly navigating through challenging scenarios with ease and compassion. The atmosphere of the classes are welcoming, encouraging, and more often than not spent laughing at something. Kirsten has a knack for tailoring exercises to each dog's unique abilities, ensuring both fun and progress in every session. Highly recommend taking any class taught by Kirsten!

Canines at Training (CAT) has had such a positive impact on our pup and family! The trainers are knowledgeable and I can tell how much they love helping you and your dog have the best life together. It's a safe, clean, nonjudgmental learning environment which was key for us and part of the reason we keep going back. We especially benefited from Reactive dog training, stay and play, and drop off training (CEO). Our dog loves going to the training facility, and it makes us feel good that the trainers are willing to work with him despite his reactive quirks. We've become better dog parents because of CAT and our dog is more confident and less reactive as a result. We're so grateful CAT exists, can't recommend it enough!

Nice facility. Excellent flooring so your dog doesn't slip. Pens present so you have your own space to train. A huge variety of classes to sign your puppy or adult dog up for. I have only done puppy kindergarten but we are signed up for puppy level 2, puppy agility and puppy socialization classes. Trainers are very knowledgeable and helpful with a variety of problems. We needed a training facility like this in the area. Update...18+ months later....we completed all three puppy levels. Started scent class around May. Scent class is a little tough the first few weeks bc you are just trying to get your dog to correlate a sign with a scent. However, once you get past that, it is worth it. Our dog likes it so much, we do scent competitions with her. We also started agility classes over the summer when it was too hot to be outside. Great, large course and excellent trainers. Most importantly, there is no "clique" at this facility. Trainers are super nice as well as all participants.

Pros: Clear, positive-only training made fun and engaging for people with typical “pet” dogs. Shana and Kirsten are great with puppies and their people. Cons: If you have a working dog, look elsewhere. CAT staff recommended a board-and-train for my impulsive puppy. After taking her to a different training facility, I learned a boarding option wasn’t needed at all. CAT staff also doubted whether my puppy was suitable for service work. She is now a year away from being fully task-trained with the help of a professional service dog trainer.
