Canine Training Center

My wife and I enrolled in the group beginners class. We were looking forward to having an ex Police K-9 Unit Officer help train our Black Mouth Cur. Things started off promising. Now into our sixth class, the owner and trainer Howard Day has participated in two of our six classes. His assistant has been fine. But, I really thought we would get the beneficial knowledge and training of the K-9 guy. He or his literature never said he would not be participating in our beginners classes. When we were training outside on the property, the grass was full of tall weeds! What would it take to mow the place for the benefit of the dogs and the owners?! His trainee led our sixth class and it was pretty bad. Repetitive of previous training techniques. The large enclosed room was steaming hot! Even with a wide open side door, no ventilation. They sure could benefit from some industrial fans! I was sweating profusely. I spoke to another dog owner who agreed the conditions were unbearable. This person said they would not continue with intermittent training with these people. Shame 'cause they have a good thing going, just poorly operated. Alan Emberson

My experience with Canine Training Center was the very best. Howard and Kay were extremely professional, knowledgeable, patient and capable instructors. I never felt rushed or chastised about things that I hadn’t known or didn’t pick up quickly. They helped me feel confident in training my dog and being able to take her out in public. Highly recommend! I will be returning for higher level training.

We were very lucky that Kat could take our two 9 month old Frenchies and our 7 month old Bullmastiff at the same time. She was so very well poised and knows exactly how to truly train our babies. They felt her love and consistence in training. We felt a kindling of our souls because she really loves being with dogs and our dogs love her. Choosing or getting chosen by True Canine Academy has been a blessing.

The Canine Training Center team is hands down the best! Ronnie was a very reactive dog, barking and pulling to see other dogs. Our first few lessons were tough. Several times I wondered if we’d be kicked out for Ronnie’s barking and sheer disobedience when around other dogs. I dont think they’d actually kick someone out, but we were very overwhelmed and unruly. The team worked with both Ronnie and I to work through the frustrations and progress past the reactivity. Several sessions and A LOT of practice later Ronnie has made quite the transformation! We communicate on a different level and have built a bond and trust thats quite special.
