Canine Training Adventures

I have taken a number of classes with Connie and others at Canine training Adventures and have found them to be exceptional. The focus is entirely on positive ways to work with canine partners to foster a true partnership between the species. The dogs love it and so do I. Even though I have had training experiences elsewhere, I always come away with something new to try. The focus is on understanding canine behavior and working with it in a positive way. I also love the site, with small classes in a building with cushioned floors on a ranch with incredioble views.

Connie at Canine Training Adventures is an incredible trainer and teacher. I cannot recommend her enough! We brought home Ollie, a 3 month old puppy from Safe Haven, in December and my pre-teen daughter wanted to train him as a therapy dog. We started with Connie's group class, Puppy Preschool, and immediately knew this was a great fit. He just finished the second level Manners and More class this week and we're starting the Good Citizen training next month. Connie is a patient and direct instructor, offering immediate feedback on techniques and identifying moments where we're unknowingly giving mixed signals. She's been so helpful is nipping problem behaviors in the bud and setting us on the right track. To give an idea of just how good her training program has been for us, let me share a story from the other day. We live on a very busy highway and Ollie found a weak spot in the fence and slipped through. He ran to the front yard where a guest had just pulled up. I called him once to come and he immediately turned and ran right back to me at the front door, away from danger and away from the stranger who'd just gotten out of their car. My older dog would never! If you have a puppy or an older dog with problem behaviors, Connie's the one to call. It's a small investment for many years of peace of mind and happy interactions.

Canine Training Adventures offers a wide variety of classes (for every age of dogs) at a peaceful, beautiful location. I began with a Parkour class, then tricks class and then learning to search for antlers and rats. Now I help Connie run "Odor on the Farm", an event where teams practice their scent/odor skills in a variety of fun farm searches. Nothing like a happy tired dog, and handler, at the end of a class @ Canine Training Adventures.
