Canine State of Mind

We highly recommend Sasha for any boarding or training your dog might need! Sasha's insight and ability to understand dogs is unmatched, and we have not seen any other training program that is similar to her style or that worked better for our dog. We completed a 3 week board and train program with Sasha for our 8 month old puppy, Bean. When Bean returned from her stay, her behavior had drastically improved. We really struggled with Bean biting furniture and rugs, barking, and stealing items off of tables. All of these behaviors disappeared after Sasha worked with Bean. Even more importantly, and as a true testament to Sasha, Sasha was able to get at the core issues that were causing these problem behaviors to begin with. Bean, though super sweet, is a highly anxious and alert dog. Sasha was able to resolve Bean's "problem behaviors" by helping her feel more confident both in and outside the home. In this way, instead of just working on targeting individual behaviors like most other training we have seen, Sasha's method works to help your dog feel more relaxed and comfortable in their role in your family unit. When we're away, Sasha is the only one that we would trust boarding Bean. We're comforted knowing that Bean is in good hands with Sasha, enjoying the farm, sleeping in the house, and being a part of Sasha's pack. The training does not end when your dog returns home. Sasha has been an invaluable resource for us, and is always available for questions about behavior, food, nutrition, and more to ensure you and your dog continue to do well and feel adjusted. We feel so fortunate to have been able to work with Sasha, and cannot recommend her highly enough!

Words cannot begin to describe the appreciation that my wife and I have for Sasha and Canine State of Mind. We sent our 5-month-old puppy, Scooby, to her Board and Train program in early August. Scooby was a very well-behaved puppy, to begin with, but when we got her back three weeks later, she had matured into something far better. Throughout the three-week process, Sasha brought out the best in her. She does not jump, does not nibble, and most importantly, no longer has the separation anxiety that she displayed throughout her early months. Through Sasha's work, Scooby has bought into the pack mentality, and fully sees my wife and me as the Alpha Male and Female. She does not need to stress herself out by trying to assume the role and lives a much more relaxed, guided, and enjoyable life. Along with the board and train session at Sasha's farm (which looks absolutely amazing.... I wish we could go stay there), she also does four follow-up training sessions with us. This, to me, is the most important aspect of what you are signing up for. She can do all of this amazing work at the Farm, but it is on the owners to take responsibility and continue the amazing work that she has done. Without this component of the program, you lose out on all the wonderful benefits that she has imparted to your pup. This step is crucial in your dog's development, and we look forward to our next session with her. In addition to her follow-up visits, Sasha has been so attentive with us via text message. She checked in, each day, following Scooby's stay with her. She checked on progress and answered all of the questions we had. You can clearly tell that she truly CARES about each dog, and loves them as if they are her own. One additional, and unique, aspect of her program, is the nutritional analysis. When we sent Scooby to her, she still had quite a bit of "puppy fat" on her (or so we thought). When Sasha brought her back, you would have thought that Scooby had gone to a three-week fitness retreat! She looked ripped! As we talked with Sasha more, she explained to us all of the analysis that she had done, and recommended adjusting towards a diet that is more aligned with Scooby's true needs. To sum this all up, if you are looking for the absolute best for your dog (and you!), look no further. Sasha and Canine State of Mind is the ONLY option. Her experience, care, attention to detail, and dedication to her craft, raise her above all others. You will not find another person around that provides the level of care and professionalism that Sasha does.

We used Canine State of Mind for our pup, Hank earlier this year. After much research on the available local programs, we opted for the Canine State of Mind 3 week board and train because we were going on vacation and needed boarding, but also wanted to simultaneously get Hank some training for socialization and anxiety issues. Prior to training, Hank was a ball of anxiety! He would bark at every dog or human who passed our house, wasn’t able to greet other dogs properly, horrible on a leash, wouldn’t ever just relax, always on edge! When he came home he was a completely different dog…for the better! It was like a weight had been lifted for him. We wish we had sent him when we first got him. Even family members commented on how much calmer he seems post training. Sasha is amazing. You can feel her warm, calming demeanor the moment you meet her. You can tell this isn’t just a job for her this is her passion. We will use Canine State of Mind for any additional boarding needs for the rest of our days. We know when Hank is at the farm he is in the best hands! We can’t thank Canine State of Mind enough for the help they gave Hank and ultimately the peace of mind they provided for the rest of the family as well.

Sasha's method works !!!! From the moment my dogs were returned to me from the farm Board and Train Program I noticed a significant improvement in their behavior. Sasha spent time with me and the dogs to help with the transition back into our home. She provided demonstration and information on how to continue to implement the program for the dogs. She continues to check in with me by phone and text., answering my questions and providing continued guidance for me and the dogs. She is invested not only in their progress but in their over all health and well being, providing good information about health and nutrition. I highly recommend Sasha. When you commit to her methodology and do the work you will be amazed with the results.
