I started training at Canine Magic Dog Training in October of 2018, by about December I could take my dog fully off leash in the woods with spectacular recall. The methods and habits taught by Terry and Mike are invaluable. I was able to break Iris (my dog) of unwanted behaviors quickly (IE being rough with little dogs, console surfing in the car, unwanted chewing, etc) in a matter of weeks. With this training Iris can reallllly be a DOG. I don't mind if we are on walks in the woods and she takes off after a bunny or something, because I know I can recall her and have her sitting at my side within seconds if she strays to far. I can take her to unfenced yards and she will maintain a close proximity to me. She is kind of a dream now. I see other peoples dogs at the dog park, and they can't recall, can't break them of being to rough. The difference is night and day. I cannot recommend this class enough. Anyone who is interested in an obedient and super happy pup should give Canine Magic a shot.

They have again saved the day for me. 14 years ago I went to Terry to help train my 10 month old Shiloh Shepherd – Morgan - who would not listen or stop barking. Morgan was with us for 13 years and was a great dog *after* we met Terry. I now have another Shiloh Shepherd named Kona who I had to take to Terry & Mike at 5 months old because she wouldn’t listen, was biting, typical puppy stuff, but too the extreme!! The first 2 months w/Kona were horrible and when I knew I had to take her to training, I immediately went to Canine Magic. The transformation was immediate w/Kona and she turned the corner and is a GREAT dog, again – thanks go Terry & Mike. I’ll be sad when we’re done w/group classes as it’s great to see how well all the dogs are doing and how some of the more reactive dogs have changed. I know people have a stigma against e collars, but Mike goes over the workings of the collar in the first semi-private classes and then Terry works the dogs in the groups to train the owner on handling different situations and working the collar and the dog. They love what they do and it shows!! I highly recommend Canine Magic for help in training your dog(s)!!

Terry and Mike are pros. Helped me and my S/O develop a system for setting our adopted dog up for success. They understand dogs, and the many ways humans interact with them. They identify problem behaviors in the trainers, and coach using positive reinforcement to bring all breeds, shapes, sizes and temperments up to “good dog” status. Some dogs are born to listen, some are born to be obstinate, some fall along the spectrum. I promise you will find a positive difference in your dogs behavior and your relationship with them after committing to this program. Heads up, this is not a magic pill, or a short cut: it takes work, failure, resetting and management. If you are ready to see an improvement in your dogs behavior: take this course. If you are feeling uneasy (I had my reservations, my S/O was completely against it) about using the e-collar, go watch a saturday group class. Nobody is tazing their dogs: the e collar helps command the attention of a dog so that you can effectively issue commands. It is never punishment: it is only a boundary (at first.) as you and your pup progress, it becomes totally natural, a part of the routine. I urge you to give your dog freedom through structure: go to Terry and Mike. Your dog (neighbors, kids, husband, wife, postal worker, other dogs) will thank you.

I had the pleasure of meeting Terry about 6 years ago by chance at a Pet Store. We started talking and since I have a dog boarding business and she has the dog training business it was meant to be that not only would we be business companions . Terry's outlook on the Quality of a Pet's Life is a reflection of her passion for what she offers to clients and their dogs.
