Canine Kingdom Downers Grove

Bucky, our 1 yr old male standard poodle has been coming to Downers Grove Training & Grooming since he was about 4.5 months old. I called them when he was about 3 months old because I was desperate to learn how to train him not to nip, help us teach him to be good dog to be around other people/kids/dogs, and to get his excess energy expended. As soon as Bucky was fully vaccinated, he was able to start the puppy program. The change was incredible! In just a couple of months, I had a dog that I enjoyed being around, rather than being chewed on incessantly. My dog came home tired, was much more fun to be around, and obedient on days he did not attend “school”, because he had socialization and fun exercise when at training. All the trainers are wonderful, but my dog especially loves seeing Areli and Josh. They have been wonderful in teaching my husband and I how to enforce the training at home as well. They are always happy to answer questions when my pup moves on to a different “phase” and new behaviors emerge that I need help with. Every employee there is amazing…friendly and helpful, and I feel at ease knowing that I am leaving my dog with people that love him and are happy to see him. Bucky finished the puppy program, then did the Alumni program, and now goes a few days a week to daycare. I never thought I would be someone who sends my dog to daycare, but he loves going so much! Tail wagging as soon as we get to the parking lot, and a tired and happy pup when I pick him up. I am so happy to have found Downers Grove Training…my pup is mentally and physically stimulated and I think it makes him a better dog. Most people can’t believe he just turned a year old because of how calm and well behaved he is, and I credit his trainers for helping teach him good behavior and the daycare for giving him a good outlet for his energies so he is calm when it is appropriate. We will continue to bring Bucky to daycare and recommend it to anyone considering it :)

We have a 1 year old Bernese mountain dog, Griff, that just completed his training program at Dog Training & Grooming Downers Grove. The amount he has learned and grown since he started the program is remarkable. We are so happy we decided to have him trained here. He was so excited that he would jump right into the car each morning when he could tell he was headed to "school". The trainers are very knowledgeable and patient. Everyone working here, from ownership to those at the front desk have always been great to work with. We also have boarded our dog through Dog Training & Grooming Downers Grove and each time it has been a great experience. If you live in the area, this facility is the best around for dog training!
