About Canine Inspired Change
Canine Inspired Change (CIC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to giving vulnerable youth the social-emotional tools they need to be active participants in their schools and their communities. Our work helps these remarkable young people transcend trauma, social struggles and isolation by sparking meaningful connections with dogs, volunteers and each other. Our innovative and successful program focuses on social-emotional learning to give students the tools to better self-regulate in the classroom and in life. Through customizable sessions, we partner with schools and organizations in the Twin Cities to offer programming that connects with their young learners.

Canine Inspired Change is literally one of the most life-changing, impactful organizations I've ever connected with. Besides the training classes that are absolutely top-notch (shout out to Beth and her awesome tricks class!), the ability to do good with my dog is something that I am forever grateful for. Being able to volunteer my time, while spending time with my dog, and impacting students is so life giving. The power of a dog is amazing to see, watching students come out of their shells and open up to positive change. In the three years we have worked as a therapy dog team, Copper and I have volunteered at the Ramsey County Juvenile Detention Center, worked alongside Women's Advocates, and supported students at Youable in their day-treatment program for students, just to name a few. I have found myself changed for the better as I have watched as my canine has inspired change in others. And that is something worth howling about. Thank you CIC. I am so grateful for your space in our community.

My experience at Canine Inspired Change has been nothing but positive. Our dog and I attended their Foundational Skills program in the summer of 2025 - Taylor and Beth did a wonderful job as facilitators. We found it extremely helpful and based on that, we've also committed to their next class, Therapy Dog training later this year. Overall, the organization's mission, programs and people are truly valuable and make a difference in our world, in my humble opinion.
We have loved training with CIC. We have taken courses including foundational skills, therapy dog training and a tricks class. Trainers are patient and knowledgeable and have given us the tools and information to become a confident therapy dog team. My dog is always happy to walk through the doors for some pets and love.
