Canine Country Club of the South

I was hesitant to share my experience because it seemed like such an anomaly based on most other reviews, but after everything that we've gone through with this trainer, I think it's important to leave a review detailing our experience. We researched Karisha online and saw mostly positive reviews. Our experience was so different from everyone else who left a review. First and foremost, communication was almost non existent. Karisha, after I requested daily updates, had to be prodded to send me a text as to how my dog did that day and most days I never received texts. I requested videos of my dog in the pool (an add-on that we paid additional money for) and never received even one. I asked for photos or videos of my dog socializing with other dogs and never received them. While she had my dog, she was extremely difficult to get in touch with, so I never really knew what was going on with my dog. Karisha ended up keeping my dog for an additional week (although we weren't charged for the additional time, something that was mentioned when we dropped the dog off) and still I didn't receive updates and info about my dog's progress. The worst part was when we picked up our dog and she had lost about 10% of her body weight, but had a sweater on to cover it up. We had sent JUST enough food for her to stay 3 full weeks but somehow, after the dog stayed for three full weeks, there was food left over. When I asked about it, Karisha said she bought the dog's food "and didn't even charge us for it", but neither Karisha nor no one on her team knew what kind of food our dog was eating. The food we left was in clear plastic bags with no markings or any brand or type. I also never filled out the type of food on the intake paperwork because I didn't know the name of the food, so there was no way for Karisha to identify the food. Lastly, when we brought our dog back for the two individual training sessions with Karisha, she pushed our dog too far with trying to get her to walk with her own dog. She even put a muzzle on our dog that was too small for her without any type of muzzle training. Overall, I'll say that my dog got better at obedience, but the whole reason we took her to Karisha (and Karisha said she knew how to correct) was reactivity to other dogs and that didn't get any better. We reached out to Karisha for a partial refund and have yet to hear back from her. I guess if you're looking for just obedience, Karisha can help you, but I wouldn't trust her to keep our dog again. I wouldn't recommend her for board and train, not with my experience.

We have been taking our dog, Winnie, to the Canine Country Club of the South since the height of quarantine, around June 2020. Winnie was uncontrollable, she wouldn't stop biting and jumping, she was an overall dominant dog that had started taking over our lives. We were incapable of setting proper boundaries with her, and then luckily we discovered Karisha and her team. Karisha quickly trained Winnie to become the dog we've always dreamed of. Karisha cares for Winnie like her own pet and treats us like family. We couldn't be more grateful for the amazing people over at the Canine Country Club of the South.

Found out after she kept our puppy way longer than specified I had to just show up to see him... she uses shock collars on dogs! Our sweet natured puppy came home aggressive and he was doped. We were forced to find him a new home for fear his new aggression could be dangerous especially with my little nephews. Horrible experience. We paid her over $700 up front with the balance due at pick up... she didn't even ask for the balance she knew she screwed up!
