Canine City

My experience with Canine City was wonderful from the first phone consultation to to day I picked up my girl on her graduation day. After spending over an hour on the phone explaining to Andy my concerns about my puppies behavior issues, to which he was so patient with me with all my questions I had, we decided on the 3 week board and train program. Andy was professional and knowledgeable and always willing to answer any questions or concerns I had throughout the process. After 3 weeks with Andy my Daphne is like a new dog! Andy has laid the foundation for me ensuring I had the tools and knowledge to continue building on what we learned. He also made sure I understood how to reinforce good behavior at home. His program emphasizes clear communication with your dog, consistency, and patience, which gives me confidence in my ability to keep progressing with my dog even though are sessions are over. Daphne has made incredible progress and I'm excited to apply what I have learned to continue to build the bond between me and my girl. I can't recomend this program enough, if you are on the fence about whether this is the right decision, do it! You will NOT regret it, thank you Andy!!

I have a three year-old black mouth curd terrier mix. He was a rescue from the streets of Aruba. I am not sure what transpired through the rescue process or his living situation before me, but when I brought him home, that is when the headache started. I saw he was constantly anxious and was scared of everything. He was stubborn but extremely smart. He literally learned how to open doors on his own. At one point, he even learned how to open and escape from the corners of his crate, to which I then had to zip tie, so he couldn’t escape from his crate. None of my friends or family members would come over unless he was locked away and the door to the room shut and locked (because he can open up doors!). I couldn’t take him on walks because he was too scared to leave the driveway! He would growl at anyone and everyone. I was so scared, the vet even noted that “he needed to be medicated”, which I didn’t want to do because he does have a sweet soft heart, and loves to cuddle. I knew with training we could get him right. I went through 10 trainers who all told me he was a lost cause. I had to do something. The gray on my babies face was insane! “ he’s only three years old, that should not be there!” I thought. I also thought he was going to hurt someone one day and will have to be euthanized. I can’t tell you how scared I was! Then I found Andy. I signed my baby up for Andy’s three week board and training program. But I was scared that he was going to call me and say “ come and get your dog!”. The day I dropped my baby off, he and I were both nervous wrecks. We all went on a walk together for Andy to observe my baby. Andy could instantly see my baby was not confident at all and was in a constant “ fight mode”. I was told he was “looking for a fight”. When I came to pick up my baby three weeks later, LET ME TELL YOU! Completely new dog! I did not even recognize him! He listens, he is great on walks (he’s not looking to fight anymore, he’s relaxed), and he is a lot less scared of the world! My baby is still a work in progress, but he is more relaxed, and the stubbornness is like nonexistent. Andy is a dog training whisperer sent from dog training heaven. We will be going back to keep up the progress that my boy has made, and my other boy will be going back as well to brush up on his training. I cannot thank Andy enough, he literally saved my baby!

I cannot say enough good things about Andy at Canine City Dog Training. After working with three other trainers and even consulting a vet, I was told my only options were rehoming or euthanasia due to my dog’s bite history. I was heartbroken and losing hope. Andy completely changed that. He focused on Ace’s needs without being afraid to approach him or immediately labeling him as “just an aggressive dog.” Watching his daily updates of my dog’s progress was not only reassuring but also gave me hope I hadn’t felt in years. He worked miracles. After two years of struggles, my dog can now be in the same room as my family without barking or showing aggression. On top of that, my dog even participated in a grooming training session! In the past, he could only be groomed professionally under sedation. Thanks to Andy’s incredible work, he’s now able to handle the process without having to be heavily medicated. Andy was patient, skilled, and compassionate. He truly understood my dog’s challenges and addressed them with expertise. I can’t thank him enough for transforming what felt like an impossible situation into one where my dog is thriving and finally part of the family again. If you’re struggling with a difficult dog, I 1000% recommended giving Canine city a chance!

Great experience working with Andy. Although we were nervous at first to leave our dog Roo for 3 weeks, we left feeling very comfortable with Andy and his program. Roo has come away with more skills and we have made significant improvements with our ability to communicate with her. Roo is way better at walking on the leash and with a stroller now! We appreciate the work Andy has done and look forward to continuing to work with him in the future.
