Canine Cadre

Canine Cadre has been a wonderful experience for us and our puppy Josie. Working with Mike, who is extremely knowledgeable and relatable, over the last few months has allowed her to learn and grow and allowed us to become more confident pup parents. Mike has given us a great variety of tools and tips and is always accessible to problem-solve any concerns we might have. The other members of the Cadre staff have been just as engaged and welcoming throughout Josie’s training, always checking in and sharing their expertise. The opportunity to interact with other puppies in the weekly puppy social has helped her learn positive puppy social skills and is definitely the highlight of her (and our!) week. These experiences have allowed us to feel a part of the Canine Cadre community and we are grateful for the opportunity.

Today my dog, a 51/2 year old Jack Russell Terrier and I had our third in home training session with Cat from Canine Cadre. I have learned more in these three sessions than I learned from another in home training program or from puppy training at a local pet store. I feel more equipped to handle some of my dogs negative behaviors when we are on walks. Cat has made excellent suggestions of some products that can assist me when I walk my dogs together, specifically so I don’t end up tangled in the leashes or when the less desired behavior begins before it escalates. I would highly recommend Canine Cadre.

This is a shout out to Lenny Paquette at Canine Cadré. I want to give him a big thanks for all our years of training. I started out with him 33 years ago at The Plainville YMCA. I took my 6 month old Golden Retriever to public and then private competition training. At the time, I had asked Lenny to teach me the ins and outs of AKC Obedience competition. With great success, and Lenny’s experience, we moved up from Novice to Open Competition. We received perfect scores in Open (CDX) competition, thanks to Lenny. It was a great feeling when we walked out of the ring and were cheered by fans and competitors alike! We would always score either perfect scores or in the high 190’s. King Midas’ touch had two Championship Obedience Titles. Twenty years later, I bought two new Golden Retrievers, and boy they were a handful! I reached out again to Lenny for a refresher and, the great guy Lenny is, he agreed to train them at the same time. These guys were tough but with the great training of Lenny, we were able to break the bad habits of Gunner and Guinness of Hardwood Kennels. So now they walk like champs and we are complimented all the time as I handle them in tandem (brace) thanks to Lenny’s training.
