Canine Academy Columbus

Alex was our trainer for our one-year-old, 130 lb, Cane Corso, Chunk. Never having this breed or such a large dog we thought to get him some training before he reeks havoc on the universe. Alex was and is, very patient and detailed, and it shows through chunks new attitude. now it’s up to me to follow through with his training with scheduled follow ups with Alex, which I’m looking forward to. I highly recommend Canine Academy and Alex!

I adopted my dog in August and within a month he escaped 3 times due to him not responding to my commands and having excess energy to burn off. He is a German Shepherd/Beagle mix which I have learned is a very high energy, high prey, and can be stubborn when needing to follow instructions. I had him attend the 10 day program and he had a complete 180 change. His trainer, Shannon, did amazing at teaching him commands that helped build my relationship with my dog. My dog now listens to me and I am able to walk with him on a simple collar and leash without him trying to tear my arm out of the socket. I constantly get praise on how well my dog is and how amazing he is doing and I cannot thank Shannon and Canine Academy enough. I also take my dog there for boarding because he loves it there so much. They always send photos and videos of him which helps ease my nerves and makes me happy because I can visually see he is loving his time there! They are also professional dog photographers there as you can tell from the photo!

We had a great experience working with Shannon. The facilities are impressive and the staff was very friendly. We received daily updates and fun photos/ videos of our dog as he was being trained. Shannon was extremely thorough when explaining commands and the e collar methodology during our take home lessons and really set us up for success. A month or so out from the training, Shannon has continuously followed up on our dogs progress and has been a great resource. Overall, we have seen tremendous improvements with our dog while walking, recalling, and interacting in social situations. Thank you, Shannon and canine academy for all of your help!!

Canine Academy was great, from the first consultation call to the training itself. I was paired with the trainer Alex. I appreciated that he met my dog and I at whatever level we came to the lessons with. He was always very relaxed and patient, and I could tell he truly cared for my dog and her success. I will recommend this program to every dog owner I come by, and will be using the techniques learned to train all of my dogs going forward.

I could not be more satisfied with every aspect of my experience with Canine Academy. I knew I needed to make an investment in my 10 month old dog Barry’s training, but was worried that most places I looked at seemed either too sterile and cold with too little human interaction or weren’t promising any lasting results. Then I found Canine Academy. The CA facility is a dog’s paradise, every person I had contact with was warm and their love for animals was evident. They sent me pictures and updates every day he was at his board and train. And WOW!! When I came to pick him up, I was truly amazed at his progress. He worked with Shannon and she was incredible with him. Clearly got to know him so well and really worked with him on areas he struggled. And he loved her!! In the 6 weeks since he’s been home, he’s been amazing. Night and day difference. Still his goofy sweet self but with self control and listens to his commands beautifully. Sending him to Canine Academy was the best decision I’ve made as a dog owner and I tell anyone I can how amazing they are.
