About Camp Mutt Dog Training & Boarding
Voted #1 Dog Trainers & #1 Boarding Kennel for several consecutive years. We are not your typical training facility. We do not do assembly line training, as each dog in an individual. We are balanced trainers with psychology-based foundations. We help about 400 dogs & families every year and we take their trust to heart. Camp Mutt is revered as the professional and trusted local dog training facility. Our Camp Mutt owners are Josh Forester and Kandi Burkhardt, both are NC State certified trainers and met through dog training with rare, mutual dog training philosophy and styles. After working together on over 200 severe behavior modification cases, they started Camp Mutt! Welcome to the team!

How much would it be to train to be a service dog?
Like Eric said we would need to evaluate the dog prior to going over pricing. Every owner’s needs are different and can vary the program requirements.

Prices vary depending on tasks you need the service dog to be able to do. Dog needs to be checked for proper temperament to see if he/ she qualifies.

What are the prices for 4 day boarding for 2 Pitts?
Hello Michael, Boarding prices are $38 per day ($35 if you are military or first responder). If they cannot go out into group play during the day there is an additional $4 fee per dog per day. If they can go in the same kennel there is a 25% discount for the second dog. All of our prices are on the website if you would like to look. Feel free to contact us if you have anymore questions.

Do the puppies have to be registered to get trained??
The dogs need their shots but it’s only to protect them and the other dogs that go in for training.

I'm so glad we found this place! Our Great Danes have boarded with Camp Mutt a few times now, and they just love it. It's clean, friendly, and smells fresh, too!

UPDATE(2ND) Thanks to Kristen and her team, Luna has been amazing with other dogs. She was experiencing some insecurity issues and becoming reactive on the leash. As seen in my updated photos, she is playing with a dog she just met. There are more from other days but I only have videos. She is also been given more freedom and she has been coming back to me, even without me calling her. Training homework is something we continue to do, but I have a confidence about her now. She is a year old. Review update: July 6,2023 Our Luna went back to board and train for off-leash training Luna is rocking it. They are miracle workers! Kristen and her team have been amazing trainers! We have a doberman puppy who was starting to be uncontrollable for our walks outside amongst some other puppy traits I was having issues dealing with until her 2-week board and train. Best thing ever! Now I'm the one being trained, lol. It's not perfect yet, but 95% better. They are there for constant support. It's worth the drive from wilmington, where I live. It's so nice getting compliments when we walk now. At least 5 people yesterday said how wonderful it was to see such a well-mannered pup. That hadn't happened before Kristen and her team.

They take inventory of the items you're bringing in upon check in. They provide a report card upon check out to let you know how your furry friend did while you were away. Awesome place! Will be our go to for boarding when needed in the future. It feels so good to know I can have peace of mind that my little friend is well cared for when I'm away. Thank you all! 😊
Our pups are always well taken care of at Camp Mutt! We have been going there for years and have been happy with the love they show our two dogs while traveling. You can leave your pets with them and trust they are safe and well attended.
