Camp Mutt Dog Training & Boarding

Good place, leaves much to be desired. I've boarded multiple dogs with them over the last couple of years and in the Jacksonville Area, it is second to none for overnight boarding. Checkin is always a simple process, and my dogs mostly seem to be happy when being picked up. They are very helpful and flexible when it comes to shifting a reservation on short notice/same day. The website notes that they attempt to get all the dogs out of their kennels as much as possible throughout the day, but on multiple occasions, I dont think that was the case. Twice in a row, Ive had a dog that has not historically wet anything out of excitement "pee on her stuff" because she was excited to be picked up. The blanket is far too wet to be a little piddle, based on what they provide me of her blankets being wrapped in a bag. And she will ALWAYS relieve herself upon immediately departing the facility like she hadn't peed or poo'd since the day prior. Additional interactions have left much to be desired with the knowledge and interactions of potentially newer kennel techs who seem to answer generically, leaving me questioning if my reactive dog was in fact allowed to play with other dogs like he said she did, or if she was in fact allowed to play alone, like I paid for her to. I am unsure of who is permitted to interact with the dogs during the play time.

Had a very bad experience boarding our staffordshire pit mix. We boarded him for a family trip and because he wasn't fixed he was secluded. Ok that's fine but when we got him back he smelled awful and his back end was wet and he had EXTREME anxiety, which led me to believe he was neglected then his own mess was rinsed off at time of pick up. That's a no thank you ever again. Our dog is treated like our son so we know better and these were all red flags to me. We'd rather pay higher rates and book somewhere else. This spot seemed appealing to military families but we were sorely mistaken.

Kristen’s expertise and attention to detail are unmatched, and she’s so passionate about helping dogs and their families. Scotch not only learned obedience and socialization skills but came back with such a calm, well-mannered demeanor, ready to be the therapy dog we dreamed of. Camp Mutt has been such a positive experience for our family, and we are beyond grateful for Kristen’s guidance and talent.
