How long will it take to train my dog?
Length of time depends upon you, your dog, and your goals. In any one lesson, we can cover 1-3 topics over the course of an hour. You may wish to have multiple lessons on one topic. We have had the best training and boarding experiences with Elizabeth and her team! Our 1 year old, 90lb golden retriever can be a lot to handle and they’ve helped him and us learn new, effective strategies for improved behavior! Previously, we had a hard time finding anyone who could manage his energetic behavior and size well and this team has been outstanding. They even boarded him when he had higher medical needs due to surgery recovery. They administered meds, got him the stimulation and modified exercise he needed and helped him heal as our hands were full with a newborn. Also, they send daily updates that put our minds at ease and assure us that our dear pup is thriving in their care.
We took group classes with Elizabeth in Denver. She made the experience fun for everyone and made sure to give each dog and human 1 on 1 attention. Our relationship with our new rescue is much stronger than it was six weeks ago. In no small part because of what we learned from Elizabeth!

Elizabeth is an amazing dog trainer! As a first time dog owner, I felt like me and my dog were in such great and capable hands. She is clear, empathic, knowledgeable, and has such a lovely presence with pups and humans!! After taking her beginners class and utilizing in home training, both my pup and I feel more confident and grounded. Her guidance has helped us so much and improved our everyday routine immensely (better walks, less barking, giving and listening to commands). Her training approach emphasizes meeting my pup where he’s at, celebrating his superpowers, and helping us work on both of our areas of growth! I absolutely wholeheartedly recommend Elizabeth’s dog training services!!

Morris and I took the puppy and beginner classes. We found both classes to be very helpful. As I love to tell friends, for me these were “human” training classes. Elizabeth not only guided the class as a whole, she didn’t hesitate to give all of the participants direct instruction. I went from a not confident dog owner to a very comfortable, sure owner thanks to Elizabeth and Calvert Dog Training. Morris agrees and was always excited to go to class.
