Buckeye K9 has trained Columbus dogs for 20+ years , real obedience, board & train residencies, behavioral counseling, and service dog training (PTSD, seizure, autism, diabetic alert, mobility), trusted by families, executives, and government agencies. Our Obetz campus offers training, boarding in quiet cottages with 5–6 walks a day, and grooming; our Pickerington location runs size-separated, climate-controlled doggie daycare. Every new dog gets a free evaluation, every program is backed by our Lifetime Dog Training Program, and financing is available. BBB A+. Your dog can begin training as early as 12 weeks. Older dogs can be trained as well. The training will teach your dog useful obedience commands, good manners, and acceptable behavior patterns.

If you are considering training your dog to be useful for therapy and healing, Buckeye k9 provides therapy dog training. Here’s how it works. Buckeye K9 is very familiar with the therapy dog training class as well as the therapy dog certification test. Buckeye K9 prepares the dog and the owner by training both on the necessary capabilities required for the therapy dog training class and certification test. After a period with Buckeye K9, you will graduate out of Buckeye K9, ready to enroll in therapy dog classes that culminate with a therapy dog certification test.

Yes! They can do service dog training. I highly recommend Lori and her staff for any training needs. I've use her a few times and have recommended to friends who have had awesome results. In fact, her business has my newest member of the family as I write this!

My dog Abbey does great with commands in the house and did good outside until a couple months ago. Now she wants to bolt when you take her outside, what can I do?
We would want to put off leash control on your dog so if she tries to run off you can have full control of her and call her back to you.

Do they help with older dogs who have behavior issues as well as potty issues?

Do not waste your money on this place. We used the board and train program and were very disappointed. They use shock collars to get fast, short term results. They supposedly trained my GSD to not counter surf or dig in the trash. Upon our return from training he went straight to the trash can then grabbed the remote off the table. It was almost comical had we not just spent $2000.00 on training. They come across as professional, but they are only skilled in negative re-enforcement. When we were picking our dog up, the trainer was demonstrating what they trained and was using the shock collar - A LOT. My husband finally told the trainer to stop as we could see our dog was scared and stressed. There are much better trainers in Columbus. And yes Lori, I am a real person.
Saw this trainer on a dog group I am in, just a warning every dog in this program are not wearing the tools they use properly. No idea of trainer themselves but you can read a lot from a “trainer” by their ability to properly use training tools.

We love Buckeye K9! From the moment I spoke to Lori, to drop off and pick up the staff helped me to know my boys and family were important and valued!! They were patient and willing to listen to my concerns and help in every way they could, our pickup was awesome, and very thorough. We can’t thank them enough! Our boys have only been home for four days and the difference in their training and behavior is more than apparent and has already been a blessing. This has been a great experience, and as we continue to work and grow with the boys we are confident knowing we have to them as a resource! Thank you so very much!!!
Only place we trust! We have been customers for almost 5 years! The training in-house, remote, and boarding is exceptional. Our dogs are always well cared for and safe. Their communication is fantastic regarding any questions or concerns.
