Breakaway Action Dogs, Inc.

The post by James Kennedy needs some corrections. One, I was his instructor, not the person he mentions. She wasn't even in the building during his class session and had no contact with him. I do not, nor have I ever, allowed a dog in my class to be struck for refusing to do something. If a handler were to do that they would be warned and then dismissed from class if it happened again. We at BAD understand that most of our students are there to learn something new and have fun with their dogs. We welcome and encourage these teams. I have never threatened to FAIL (I don't use that word with students) a dog and handler, nor have I individually called out a student in front of the class. I did state to the entire class that in order to move on they had to practice and get the skills needed to move to the next level. Mr. Kennedy took issue with that statement and left the class. We at BAD are very proud of our agility program. We try our best to make it a fun experience for all teams whether they are there to learn to complete or are just there having fun with their dogs.

This school has good classes and there was some good times but Ended by watching trainer named Patty grab her dog by the face and yell at her dog for not doing a trick she wanted also smacking her dog in the face on a couple occasions . Not cool and feel sorry for the dog. After telling them my dog is just here to have fun and he wasn’t getting better at the weaves that he would fail. I see now why the classes were dwindling down. I Don’t feel like they had my dogs interest at heart. They need to mature as a business. Me and my wife were feeling a cold environment in there. Beware the trainers are jerks.
