Boss K9

Dogtor Fauci spent four weeks with Boss K9. Now that he's been home for a few months, it's clear to me just how important this experience was for him and for us. Before his board and train, he was anxious, had extreme reactivity to other dogs and animals, he was incapable of walking on leash and uncontrollable when it came to chasing prey, he barked incessantly out the window, and he had a taste for destroying shoes or hats. My breaking point with him was when he got off leash to chase a deer and ran directly in front of a car. Luckily, he wasn't hit, but it was a wake up call-- I needed to be able to control him for his on safety. Since he's been home, he has new coping mechanisms for his anxiety, he walks next to me on the leash, he can handle seeing a squirrel without taking off and dragging me with him, and his barking and reactivity to other animals has significantly reduced. I never thought I'd be able to travel with him and introduce him to new settings, let alone have him coexist with other dogs, but now he has the confidence and tools to do both. My relationship with Fauci has also improved. We respect each other in new ways and it's made our bond so much stronger because we know how to listen to each other. I notice his body language and he listens to my commands. Best of all, I feel like Boss K9 is there for us even now. They continue to answer questions and help me prepare for any obstacles. They genuinely care about their clients and it shows in their follow-up. Our lives have changed for the better. It's hard to imagine what life would be like without the opportunity to work with them. We adopted a 1-2 year old 80lb dog that had been neglected. Initially he was very shy and hesitant to do much. After a day our two at our house he realized that he was in a safe place with everything he needed. A switch was flipped. We think he was trying to play but didn't know how. He became wild, knocking the kids down, jumping, mouthing, etc. I had to keep him separated from our kids because someone was going to get hurt. We called Boss K9 right away. Anna came to our home for five 1 hour sessions. We couldn't believe the difference after our first lesson. Anna taught us how to set expectations and provide structure. After five lessons our dog is happy, healthy and generally calm. He is an amazing family dog. Calling Boss K9 was absolutely the right decision and worth every penny. Update: Almost 2 years later, our dog is an even better family dog. He is fun and loving, but also he knows how to behave. We frequently get compliments on his behavior while out on walks or at kids soccer games. Even our neighbors who are afraid of dogs like ours because "He is so calm." I still can't believe how far. He has come!
